my dr put my on gaviscon advance to help with the problem. He thinks it's due to the acid reflux being aspirated back up through the throat.
good luck

Sometimes GERD which is gastro esophageal reflux and too much acid can
make u feel like u have a lump in your throat when u swallow also u mite
have a constriction in your esophagus so u will feel like u have a lump. However u usually have symptoms like reflux heartburn if it is GI related. U need to have an EGD(endoscopy) to take a look in your mouth esophagus. Or u can have a upper GI X-ray. I can only recommend taking a Prilosec or Pepcid ask your dr to refer u to a specialist a gi dr or ears nose and throat dr(ENT) Hope u feel better

your head so u do not fight they also tilt your head a little down
toward your chin it makes it easier to pass the scope. If it has been
months since u had your egd and your neck hurts i would
perhaps tell your dr and get an xray it would not be from the egd
unless someone held your neck so tight u injured a disc in your neck

I read the post from Ann the Irishlass.
Thrush is a fungal infection it needs an anti fungal . Flagyl won't help it is an antibiotic. Antibiotics get rid of bacterial infections. In fact taking too many antibiotics or oral steroids cause fungus like thrush. Once u have thrush yogurt probiotics will
not get rid of it u need to see your dr immediately and get a anti fungal like
nystatin swish and swallow. PPI do not spread fungus I do not understand where people get their info. But if u see a white coating in your tongue white patches on the back of your throat u have thrush get to your dr immediately because it can effect your swallowing it gets worse with to much acid it can scar the lining if your esophagus constrict the opening or increase chance of esophageal cancer. I have worked in this field for 20 something years as a nurse (GI) thanks

do biopsies if they see redness a growth or polyp.
I have seen drs remove polyps or growths during
a endoscopy. Biopsies can be taken from the
esophagus, stomach and the pylorus and duodenum.
If it looks fungal the drs will do brushings and
put it on slides spray the slides to fix the brushings
then they are sent to the lab. They use an intrument
called a forcep that can be passed thru the scope
if the drs see anything the forcep grabs tissue to
be biopsied.

So sorry to hear about your globus. I know exactly how it feels as I started suffering this about 8 years ago but mine was caused by bad dental treatment resulting in thrush in my mouth and throat. I lost 2 stone in as many months as I was afraid to eat/drink and had to take all medication in liquid form. I had loads of investigations but they showed nothing wrong. In the end it improved on its own. I still get slight choking feeling when eating certain things- lettuce, spaghetti - and I've developed what they call an echo swallow. It's where you swallow and immediately half swallow afterwards. Stress is certainly a factor so my advice would be to take some kind of relaxation like yoga maybe. If you've had investigations done and there's nothing there the only thing to try and do is relax. If you can get the hang of the echo swallow it really helps
Good luck and keep your chin up - it does get better!

Oral thrush can migrate to other areas if one is on a ppi, not likely otherwise but possible.
A routine intake of a kefir or yogurt, kimchi etc...can supress thrush, otherwise its drugs like flagyl etc.
My 15 year old suggests a daily oral probiotic in the salivarius family for a month...a lozenge not a tablet or capsule..once the offending insult has been erradicated.

Antibiotics like Flagyl cause thrush. Taking a PPI will not spread thrush.
Thrush is a fungal infection u need a medication called Nystatin swish and swallow it is an anti-fungal. If u have a whitish coating on your tongue and pussy patches on the back of your throat it is thrush probably coming from the esophagus. If u have thrush
u need to see the dr. Yogurt won't get
rid if it completely and if left untreated u could be a risk for esophageal cancer the reflux or acid scars the lining of the esophagus it can
construct the esophagus then u develop swallowing problems. If acid
is re fluxing then it scars the esophageal lining then u develop secondary problems. Nystatin is a liquid u swish it around I. your mouth
and swallow it. It gets rid of thrush.
too many antibiotics or steroids usually can cause a fungal infection.
Thanks

From primary medical data base:" Fluconazole is used to treat serious fungal or yeast infections , such as vaginal candidiasis, oropharyngeal candidiasis (thrush, oral thrush), esophageal candidiasis (candida esophagitis), other candida infections (including urinary tract infections, peritonitis [inflammation of the lining of abdomen or stomach], and infections that may occur in different parts of the body), or fungal (cryptococcal) meningitis. This medicine works by killing the fungus or yeast, or preventing its growth."
We have always preferred nystatin for oral and vaginal thrush, plus yogurts when tollerated...not as a stand alone treatment although some have found excellent results...we consider nystain a preferable treatment over zoles (but the medical community differs) mostly due to its long standing use without the zole problems.

Flagyl (metronidazole) is an antibiotic. It fights bacteria in your body.
Flagyl is used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina, stomach, skin, joints, and respiratory tract. This medication will not treat a vaginal yeast infection.

Having your gallbladder removed has nothing to do with gastritis.
Hopefully you had some scans done to show your gallbladder is
a mess or full of stones. Gallstones can get into the common
bile duct and cause pain and nausea and bloating. Your
gallbladder may not be able to produce and handle foods
anymore or there may be issues with the bile or stones.
Stress really would not be a factor with the gall bladder.
You will do fine.

Did u have the Laparscopic cholecystectomy. They used a laser
and left little holes. Anyway the nausea and being unable to pee
is from the general anesthesia.
They are not suppose to let u leave
till u can pee. Just get up and walk
drink plenty of water take your
pain medication. You will
probably get gas and it can be
uncomfortable. If u haven't gone
in the next 24 hours I would call
the dr. If nauseated stick to clear
liquids sprite saltines jello
or Gatorade so u do not get dehydrated just look at your
discharge instructions it should
say something about discomfort
drainage u must have to see the dr
again or call make an appointment
it will get better everyday walking
and drinking will help u pee, U will
be fine

Sorry it's taken so long to reply. Thank your 15 year old for the advice. You're so right about dentists especially but unfortunately I've got to the point that I don't trust any of them. Whenever I go to see mine I get that awful choking feeling and have to keep telling him to stop what he's doing so I can swallow
