    hi judy82053,

if youre boyfriend got oral hsv2, he may only have oral herpes, not genital sores. However, once both of you have vaginal sex, he may get genital herpes. The best way to prevent it is to use condoms. You should also avoid sex during an outbreak.

As I know, herpes is spread through skin-to-skin contact, so any sexual acts during an outbreaks also give him the virus. If you especially have open blisters, he can get the virus by touching them easily. You say: " After 6 months he should have made antibodies so then he won’t get genital herpes hav2 from me", I think that having antibodies may help him prevent recurrences of an oral herpes, doesn't help stop spreading genital herpes to him.

you also notice that antibodies can be weak due to stress, harmful diet and unhealthy lifestyle, so herpes may return many times and is spread to others. You should have a conversation with your partner to have right treatment and have a safe sex life that protect him against genital herpes.
