Husband tested negative for HSV2 but I tested positive

Hi there, I recently tested positive for HSV2. Imagine my shock as I have been married for 20 years and have never cheated. After confronting my husband he fessed up to an affair. The other woman admitted she had been exposed in the past and has recently been retested and the results came back negative. (For many reasons I'm not sure I believe this but have seen the results) She admitted to be exposed and was not shocked at all when he told her. He's going to be tested this week but is it possible he could be negative as well?
