I am 26 and have been on them for a week or so. I havent been able to sleep due to my chest feeling tight, tingling sensation in my hands and feet and an uncomfortable sensation on the left side of my face. This gives me an anxious feeling therefore I cant relax enough to go to sleep.

I THINK YOU HAVE IRRITABLE AIR WAY SYNDROM AND AS YOU KNOW THAT PROPANOLOL IS NON SELLECTIVE BETA BLOCKER AND BY THIS IT CAN CAUSE YOU CHEST TIGHTNESS .ITS BETTER TO DO PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST.

Hi Im 27 and have been given propranolol for Anxiety/stress relief, been taking for about a week, I have also found that that I have tingling hands, and pain down my left arm/leg and slight chest pain. Its almost like I can feel the pressure of blood circulating through my arm or left leg. I tend to remove my watch and wedding ring becasue of the horrible feeling. I am a bit concerned as to whether or not I should continue with them. Also I go to gym and do lots of excersize, is this a problem?

A few years back I had an ECG and excercise test, for chest pains, but nothing was found to be wrong...

as i said propanolol is anon sellective beta blocker it has alpha action also and it can cause peripheral vaso constriction so tingling and pain can be felt at periphary.

hey, i am on them a day for anxiety and i am getting anxious reading your blogs here. are they worth it or or they not?

I was prescribed this when I took my driving test... (the previous test I went to pieces and failed miserably) I did a test run and took one before a driving lesson, I felt so strange that I binned them. Palpitations, dry mouth, altered vision, shaky hands that tingled...obviously work for some people, but not for me!

are you absolutely sure it wasnt the gin?

i am on day 2 now and my legs are freezing. its ok tho since i know whats causing it! heading into town now to look about cognitive behaviour therapy, anyone tried that for panic disorder?

i spend most of my time doing backflips out of speedboats and am generally known to be a bit crazy, and i am extremely social generally so i want to jump the gun before i may get confined to the house or something daft! passed out in the car yesterday because i was stuck in a traffic jam.

anyone tried this therapy or any other alternative therapies like accupuncture or yoga?

    No, it's not the gin...!

I remember reading somewhere that chinese herbalists can help with anxiety symptoms, that could be worth a try? It will probably mean drinking a really disgusting potion, but if it works, who cares?

Should you really be driving if you are passing out...

    Keep us posted! smile
