i do suffer with health anxiety but for 5 months now i have been convinced there is something wrong with my heart and i genuinly dont think its my anxiety. i get pressure in my chest and stabbing pains that are sometime in the left of my chest and really bad pain around my left shoulder blade. i get heart palpitations, lightheadidness and snore really badly too. i am overweight (trying to loose weight) and very unfit but cant excercise as it causes really bad pressure in my chest. i have been to the drs a few times and a &e. since march i have had a calcium test on my heart, several ecgs, a 3 day holter monitor and a cheat x ray and all is clear, but i have read that all of my syptoms are signs of heart disease. my dr wont send me for anymore tests as he says these tests all came back clear and my blood pressure is ok so hes not concerned. but these chest pains/shoulder pains must be my heart surely

your not alone in this. Many of us focus on our heart creating even more anxiety. I myself like you suffer with extreme health anxiety. Mainly focusing on my heart. I spent majority of last year convincing myself the doctors were wrong, they had missed something,i had angina. Adamant i was going to have a heart attack at any point. My thoughts have calmed down alot since then. I still get chest pressure, i still get chest pains and twinges in my chest. I feel it more when i relax my body which makes sense because i am constantly tense so when my body does finally relax i feel every sensation in my body. Just like me you have been told you are fine, believe in the doctors. xx

Hi well if you have had all the tests and they say your heart is fine why don't you believe them? Do you think they have missed something or that they are lying? What other tests do you want them to carry out when they have found nothing with the standard ones.
I don't think you will believe any tests so it would be a waste of time to carry out any more. Can you think of any reason you might have a dodgy heart? Are you old? Do you have heart disease or any other physical illness? Is there heart disease in your family? Are you a heavy smoker? If not then I doubt there is anything wrong. x

I was in the same boat as you end of 2017 beginning of 2018. For months I was convinced I had a heart problem and was dying. I also had chest pressure, all kinds of pains and palpitations. I'm not overweight but I am very unfit. I saw three different doctors, had blood tests and an EKG. It all boiled down to anxiety. There is a very good chance that it's anxiety in your case as well. Anxiety can mimic so many things and a heart attack is the first thing Google will say you are having if you look up symptoms. You have had the tests done, so try believing them. Medication and life changes helped me and I have far fewer episodes now, so see what works for you.
