I fear I may have Genital Herpes...

On Saturday, March 31st, I had sex unprotected with a guy. Immediately after I felt really sore, but I thought it may have been due to his size. A few days went by and I still felt sore but didn’t think anything of it until Wednesday, April 4th. I decided to look down there and see if anything was wrong. I noticed I was super red and inflamed and found a small bump on the bottom right side of my vaginal opening. It was tender but nothing too bad. I panicked just a little and decided to call my doctor. I went to the doctor the next day, Thursday, and she said it didn’t look like herpes just a yeast infection and a minor friction bump, BUT another one had popped up, so instead of one like the previous day there were now two. She swabbed them and said wait a few days for my results and prescribed me some medication for my yeast infection. I left feeling relieved, but when I woke the next morning and had two new bumps and a burning sensation when I urinate. It hurts to walk, stand, adjust myself...pretty much to do anything. Here I am on Saturday morning with 7 bumps, there’s also one on my anal opening, that do not look like herpes, as I have googled countless photos, but ‘feel’ like herpes. Maybe I’m paranoid, but I have swollen glands that are tender to touch in my groin area, burning sensations when I pee, a slight headache but only noticeable when I turn my eyes to the left or right, I hope that makes sense, but I do not have a fever or any aches throughout my body. I’m also keeping faith that it may not be herpes because I do not have an outbreak on my mouth and we did engage in oral sex. I’m really beating myself up about this and I’m scared. The pain is unbearable and not knowing and having to wait is the worst. Anyone have any input? Is this genital herpes or something else? Could my doctor have said it wasn’t because it was too early to tell? Ugh...help me please.

P.S. I’ll try to attach photos but if I can’t heres a description of the bumps...they looked like pimples at first but have gotten kinda big, they are all spread out and not in clusters, they are red with white-yellow insides/openings, I have tried to pop them and they won’t budge. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem girl. I've been dealing with for 2 weeks. Waiting on blood work to come back is scary. But I've been putting Vaseline down there that is a lot of comfort. Not thick tho.. And if ur burning put a cold rag down there as well. I also been peeing in water or having cold water poured while peeing. Some stuff to try. Really hope for the best for ya.

I hope all ends up well for you too! The ONE things that is comforting about being in this situation is knowing other women are going through it too, sadly. But I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy sad I started doing hot compresses this morning they seem to be helping a bit.

But right cause I couldn't leave my house. I don't know if I have it or not but it's the fact that I might... I feel so gross and I did think I was like the only one and I found this site and it's actually pretty nice. I wouldn't wish this on anyone either, and I wish it wasn't a thing tbh.

Exactly, it’s the waiting part that’s getting the best of me. I really beat myself up over the last few days. I feel so stupid because I know better than to be out here having unprotected sex, but the moment got to me. I had all of these stereotypes about herpes in my head but I see that literally anyone can get it. It’s not something only promiscuous men and women get. I’m praying these days go by quickly.

Mine was so mild that I didn't think I would be diagnosed with hsv2 but I was. I didn't feel ill at all (actually felt great!) and I only had a spot that looked like a mild skin irritation from shaving. I'm not saying that you will test positive at all. I'm just telling my story. I didn't have any bumps or ulcers or anything like that. But I had very swollen lymph nodes in my neck and nothing orally since the spot was on my buttcrack I really didn't think it was connected. However here I am. If you are positive for hsv, let me reassure you that you will be okay. It's a skin irritation. Almost every person has it or eventually will. Don't sweat it dear. You cannot change it all we can do is move on with a positive attitude. I'm having mild outbreaks about every 2weeks. No bumps just slightly irritated. With my first outbreak my vulva did swell so much that I took benadryl to relieve some of the pressure. Which worked. If you are in pain please take benadryl at night to reduce itching and I use lidocaine products (for hemorrhoids) to ease and numb the sores spots. Some take Epson salt baths. I promise you should not worry (it only makes it worse). If it is, it is. If it's not, it's not. Either way you are still the same person who you were before this happened. Wish you all the best!

Here’s a photo for anyone interested. I hope this helps someone tell me what they think it could be. Keep in mind it was not this bad when I went to the doctors and these are only two out of seven. I apologize for it being a bit blurry.

I do. It started out at one, then two, then four all together from what seems like over night and now I’m at seven. I hope I don’t get anymore. Hot compresses have helped as they’ve started to ooze and not be so swollen.
