I was hanging out with a friend who is lesbian and we ended up having sex we used a strap on that she has only used on her self i didn't put a condom over it while using it on me so after about 5 mins we stopped and she proceeds to tell me she has genital herpes but she didn't say Hsv1 or 2 or anything she just told me her ex had it used her shaver then she used it and ended up getting them only on her pubic area then told me she had them burnd off with acid or whatever back in 2001 and hasn't had an out break since but I'm still worried maybe I have contracted it I'm freaking out. She did tell me she washed off the strap on before using it on me but I don't know.

You don't "burn off" herpes, but you can do that to warts. Are you or her confusing HPV (genital warts) with HSV (herpes)?

I think she means warts. Ask her to clarify. Also, consider getting the Gardasil vaccine against HPV, if you haven't already. Three shots spread out and not cheap if not covered, but worth it in the long-run. Covers most common wart and cancer-causing HPV strains.

Covers *the most common..., I should say. HPV is like herpes in that it can be active or latent, so if it isn't active in her anymore, you should be fine. Same for herpes, but even if active, herpes doesn't survive for long on objects in the environment. HPV can, however.
