I'm on 120mg of Propranolol, half of your dose, and I do know you shouldn't just stop taking them without the ok from your doctor. I have only once tried to come off these tablets, with specialists permission, on the understanding I could go straight back on them if I didn't feel right. I lasted a day as I started to get the same horrible symptoms that I used to get before going on them. I had paroxysmal atrial tachycardia. These tablets seem to keep it in check so I'd never want to run out. I'm sure you would have been checked out for any underlying heart problems. Most likely everything that happened was as a direct result of suddenly stopping a quite hIgh dose of a drug that slows your heart rate down. Very frustrating when you are left not knowing why things happen. Good luck.

thanx for the reply Debra, I just found it strange that it affected my bp and heart rate. I could understand if I had been taking these for such conditions but never suffered from any heart related problems just the miagranes. I was just concerned that maybe I had developed a problem related to the heart and the propanolol had been keeping at bay without me or the doctors realising. just a bit worrying x
