I would like to hear of others experiences of taking Mirtazapine. I feel quite isolated and would value others experiences
Thank you

i take mirtazapine and have done for a few years i take it so i can sleep (15mg at night) have tried 30mg this made me sleep right through, but caused extreme anxiety following mornings when i awoke for about 3 hours. as a sleep aid they work but would not like to be on them for other reason. for myself. however antidepressants are very subjective to each individual so them may be no good to one person and work really well for other,so you can only go by your own experience with these type of drug. i wish you all the best and hope they work ok for your need regard chris

Hi barbara
Are you taking them for depression, anxiety or for sleep?
ive been on the for about 16 months for depression, I started of on 15mg and my GP worked me up to 45mg over a period of time..
They didn't help with my depression but I did get a full night of unbroken sleep..
How are you feeling taking mirtazapine? as they work pretty fast so by 2wks you should have idea if theyr helping ?( well they worked fast for me regarding the sleep)
Im now of mirtazapine 9wks tomorrow as they just didn't suit me in fact they caused anixety which I never suffered until I was given mirtazapine.
if you think theyr helping you then it be worth your while to stay on them but if you don't feel any better while taking them just be careful as getting of mirtazapine can be a nightmare the withdrawls for some people can be horrific (I was one of them people..
We all react to meds in different ways , but for me they didn't help only caused me more problems but that doesn't mean they won't help you your own body knows best so if theyr making you feel well that's great stick with them
you can private message me anytime
Best wishes
kaz

Hi Barbara
yes I think when you get in touch with others who have been on mirtazapine it really does help
Hopefully they suit you and work well for you, they just didn't work for me, as I said above just keep an eye on your anixety levels as i didn't suffer anixety until I went onto mirtazapine but they work differently for each person
good luck
