Hi Rona, I personally find that having a bath brings on my symptoms, so I avoid it now :-(

Yes Rona, soaking does help. I put about 1/2 baking soda to the warm bath water. I get the large sack of soda at Sam's Club comes in a 13.5lb bag for $7-$8 (US) and i keep it next to my tub with the little laundry detergent cup inside of it. I do try to do a quick soak twice a day. Afterwards apply the steroid ointment, then about an hour later I put the coconut oil on. I am new to all of this, but that is working for me. No more itching or burning, I do still have perineum tears and less white patches.

For me every other day a bath in which 1/3 cup of baking soda added is very beneficial.  Also rinsing with baking soda water (three pinches in a Perin bottle) is standard for me - after every bathroom visit.  After that I apply coconut oil.  Twice a week a minimal amount of Glob.  (And I follow a strict diet:  no sugar, no alcohol, no gluten, no dairy. )
