Hey everyone,
I'm m a sever hypochondriac when it comes to my health. I have had everything checked on my body. If I have a rash or lump I got o the doctors asap because I think I have cancer or something serious. Health anxiety consumes my mind 24/7 I am constantly checking my body for marks or anything.
I have been to emergency several times due to aches and pains in my body. Ive had numerous blood tests, numerous ultrasounds ect.. Ain't nothing I haven't gotton checked, endoscopies, colonoscopies, xrays. I'm 26 and doctors say I've had more tests then the average person has in their whole entire lifetime.
It's ruining my life as I can't think of anything else. I'm on medication for this and it doesn't seem to help. If I can't see a doctor about one of my health worries I drive my partner insane with my constant asking and needing reassurance. Some doctors even say I'm out of control with this...! And refuse to give me any more tests.
Anyone else like this 😓

Health anxiety is pretty common so you are definitely not alone. However, it does need to be controlled in order for you to have peace of mind and enjoy your life. The driving force behind all types of anxieties including health anxiety is fear. Ask yourself what are you afraid of? Most people would answer they are afraid of dying. so there are two ways that you can think about this. The first way is your thoughts and conclusions based on your feelings and emotions. And that would be fear .
The second way to think about this is through facts.
conclusions based on feelings and emotions are not based in reality or truth, only irrational fear. What you need to do is think about this factually. I’m going to assume you are young. some of the facts are .....
the odds of a young person getting cancer or a fatal illness are very low.
people of all ages get aches, pains, lumps and bumps of which the majority 99% or more it’s nothing serious.
Fear Will automatically put negative thoughts and worst case scenario thoughts into your mind if you allow it.
The vast majority of people will live into their 70s and 80s and some go beyond that.
Remember, all those scary thoughts swirling around in your mind or just that. They are thoughts that come and go all day long and are meaningless. They hold no truth. This is where we have to take charge and be determined. get in the practice of instantly dismissing the negative thought and when you do that over and over, your mind will not automatically go there. But you have to be persistent!
Also, give your body some credit. It has taken you this far I’m assuming in a healthy way. you are panicking for no reason and the more you do that and get stressed out over this, the more you are actually hurting your good health. You can turn it around. Focus on things such as staying healthy instead of assuming you are very ill. Get some exercise. Eat healthy. Think positive thoughts and be grateful that you are healthy! Don’t invent illnesses!
Stay busy and active so your mind doesn’t wander!
You’re a fighter for yourself . of course everybody should get a physical check up at least once a year but when everything comes out normal, get on with your life and enjoy it! ❤ also, counseling helped me a lot when I was feeling this way. Sometimes we just need that extra support and need someone to help us manage all of this. Take it vantage of it!

Good evening to you 😃
I read your post and yes, I too am currently going through this ordeal and no EXACTLY what you mean. I am currently on meds to help with this stuff, are you? I just started my meds 4 days ago, what a ride this has been... Nausea, ZERO appetite and tiredness all... the... time... However there's a silver lining here. I actually have been feeling a tad bit better, even if it is synthetic (fake).
What meds are you on? I'm doing sertraline (zoloft) 50mg a day
