Hello all. I've been waking up for the past few nights, almost every night (Interrupted from my sleep), with extreme tingling to either left arm, left leg, or both left arm and leg.. Sometimes, it's accompanied with the feeling like my heart will stop...

The first time it happened, it made me have an anxiety attack because it was so bad I thought I was having a heart attack. The doctors ordered an ECG, blood tests, etc.. and they all came back perfect. (Except for AST, or SGOT which came back rather high.)

I still can't figure out why that might be happening.. Can anyone help me please?

That sounds frightening!!  Do you have the blood test results?  Did they look at B23 levels?  Low b12 can cause tingling like you described, although I don't know about just during sleep.

Since it is during sleep, I suspect that you have pressure on a nerve causing the extreme tingling. I'm not sure why you had liver tests done (I'm no doctor!) or why it would contribute that your AST/SGOT levels were high, but it's something to ask the doctors about. It sounds like you're healthy, which is very good!

Have you seen an orthopaedist?  That would be my next move, see a specialist who can pinpoint why this may be and what can be done about it.

At home you could try an extra pillow or several, even one under your knees. Something to change your position to keep pressure off what may be a trigger point.

They did have the blood tests, though they were done because of the feelings of my heart feeling like it will stop. They tested for compononents the risk of cardiac arrest, and the chemicals that indicate an upcoming heart attack were almost null.

The numbing is more recent, and was only for my arm some days, but the past two days it spread to my leg, and has happened twice in a row.

Regarding vitamins, I was only prescribed Magnesium B6 due to the blood tests, and something for the liver. Otherwise, I don't really know. rolleyes

    Hey GureenRyuu,

I am quite interested to hear what happened with this for you as I'm experiencing the exact same symptoms in the last few weeks and can't figure out whats going on.

    Please reply to my pm.
