I'm afraid I might have genital herpes

About 3 months ago I found out my partner had herpes. He didn't specify which type or if he got a blood test or culture. He mainly just laughed and told me he gave me herpes and now I have it for life. I was so afraid and I'm sill afraid. I got tested but at almost 2 weeks of possible exposure. It was negative. Now I can finally take it but I'm afraid with doing so there will be a definite positive. I'm freaking out and need your help. We didn't use protection. But after 2 minutes I told him to stop bc it was awkward. What are my chances of contracting? I haven't had symptoms but recently went to the doctor bc my labia was red and irritated she prescribed me a anti fungal cream.

Take the blood test and get a script for antivirals if you are positive. Then at the first sign of tingling or itching take anitvirals to supress it.

Your partner sounds like an a-hole by the way.

Thanks! I was planning on doing that that way if I am I don't have to deal with pain for too long. And yeah what kind of person laughs about giving someone a incurable disease. No sorry or anything just laughed the whole and acted like it was a joke but said he was dead serious about having it.

And I usually have itching so I can't count that as a symptom.

Wow!  Your partner sounds like a real jerk.

I'm sorry that you had to experience that.

Don't freak out.  It's better to know whether you have it or not, so that you can take good care of yourself, and not unknowingly spread it to others.

Also, I can't really tell you what to do, but if I was you, I would stop seeing this guy.  Knowingly giving someone an incurable disease is not something that you do to a person that you love,and/or care about.

Well it was a random guy that I met off the internet and yes I stopped seeing that guy I blocked him from social media after that bc he was making me so mad and not taking anything seriously.

I'm sorry you had to experience that but it sounds like you've made the perfect choice in leaving the creep alone. If you didn't have an outbreak shortly after exposure but come back positive you may be what's called asymptomatic and be one of the lucky ones to not have any or very few outbreaks going forward so you may want to discuss with your doctor if antiviral meds are necessary. No need to be afraid dear, you're not alone.
