I'm more breathless since my last flare up

Hi All,
I had a flare up just before Easter and took the usual antibiotics and steroids which didn't clear it. I was then put on Doxycycline ab's which seemed to clear it. Since then I have beome breathless more easily and Ventoline doesn't help much although I'm not coughing much and I don't bring up much rubbish (excuse me for being so indelicate)!! I would love to hear if anyone has had a similar experience. I realise things can only get worse but my Rocket nurse doesn't seem to think there's an alternative to Ventolin. My oxygen levels are good by the way.
Bless you all and keep breathing!! xx

Its not the magic bullet but it has prooved to be better than Ventolin.I am also on Theopholin 300mg/day.
Sugest you see your specialist or doctor and ask about these, they may help.
Pity there is no cure for our disease.

Thank you so much for that. I'm sorry you are suffering too but it's nice to know I'm not alone. I have been asked by my nurse to contact him this week with a progress report although I can't see why this should suddenly get better in a week, he said this can last for six weeks!! I will ask him about this as I do have some Atrovent by me.
Thanks you so much again and I send my love.

I'm also taking Atrovent and Theopholin. I've used Spiriva since I first deleloped COPD. This is such a weird disease. It seems my life is based on the daily weather change!!! Sounds to me like you could have stayed on the burst of steroids a little longer. Do you mind sharing your mg usage?

Thank you so much for your response LouAnne. I did wonder about the weather element because we have had a lot of high winds with a humid atmosphere . I was given 5mg tabs to take eight once per day for five or eight days, I can't really remember. But since then I can't walk from one room to another without getting breathless and as I said, Ventolin doesn't seem to work now. I also have Spiriva and Fostair inhalers.
Thanks again, bless you.
