I'm scared - hold my hand?

Hi all,
Haven't had my username authenticated yet, hence the newbie in town bit.
Doc prescribed orlistat this morning - I'm terrified but excited. (A bit like first day at school!)
I have about 10 stone to lose  . Feel like I have this mammoth hill to climb but that I'm wearing roller skates....!
Any help or tips to get me started would be soooooo appreciated.
thanks
Sam

Be wary of the orange oil effect! it does tend to effect probably 3 out of 5 people (especially in the first few weeks!)

I like you are new to this forum and the \"wee blue pills\" so here is hoping that they are good for both of us...
Have had a couple of bad experiences over the few weeks with the orange oil and a wee fart - or so I thought it was!!! Funny how you eat something that you ahve always assumed is low fat.... but your rear end certainly tells you differently!!!
Good luck and take care out there...

I honestly think it's the best thing I could have done. They have all been really supportive and encouraging and I firmly believe they will help me through it all.
Yikes - maybe this will work.
Thanks for all your kind words - I'm sure I'll be a regular face on here over the coming weeks. It's really good that you give the bad as well as the good - forewarned is forearmed (with lots of loo roll  )

I got my pills last week and bottled it  Well my excuse was that I was full of cold and the idea of any other side effects was not appealing, so, am starting them today. I have between 5 - 6 stone to lose but know from experience you take it a day at a time.
Drink loads of water seems to be the big consensus to help and one thing I started a few weeks ago was a food diary, it has helped me enormously and helped me identify down times when I am likely to pig out and also those things you shove in your mouth that you try to deny!!! If its written down its quite scary to see.
Good luck honey and will keep you all updated with bigbirds blog
