I'm so scared I have herpes. Please help me!

First off, I have been feeling very anxious and guilty over the past two weeks, as I have been in a monogamous relationship for the last 3 years. Regrettably, I experienced a handjob with one spit of saliva and one kiss from a girl who works in a bar June 4th. I had irritation in my pubic area and extreme anxiety. I washed everyday and symptoms went away. During this time period, I washed my urethra with soap and warm water, as well as the rest of my genital area.

A raw abrasion became present that night (and still persists to this day) on the inside of my urethra, right side. That following Wednesday, I immediately got tested and waited for all my results. In the midst of that happening. The tests I took were a Grams stain, a C-S Without Anaerobic Culture, Urinanalysis, Clhamydia antigen, HIV, RPR for Syphilis. I waited until the following Tuesday night to masturbate. After doing it twice within 8 hours, I noticed my penis shaft was moderately sore with moderate shooting pains. I had to see the doctor this Friday, the 17th. He said I looked fine based on the results. However, when he looked inside my urethra, he said he saw a tiny shallow ulcer. He claimed it was HSV on the spot. I asked for a test and I am waiting for a response.

My question are:

1)is it possible that this abrasion can be something else other than Herpes?

There is a constant not stinging, but mild ache that I feel there through out the day. Sometimes, my shaft hurts.

2) Is it also possible that extremely hot water plus soap caused an abrasion in my urethra?

3) I honestly just need support and comfort. I have no one to turn to right now and I am mentally preparing to break the news to my girlfriend.

Hi...do not panic...it could be a wart!?  Does not sound like herpes cause herpes spreads and forms into blister tha you can see...it then becomes painful to walk.  The best thing you can do is to get your test result back....sometimes do not wait on the Doctor to call you....you make a phone call as  a reminder that yo are urgently waiting for your result!  It does not take that long to get a result in, Doctors just tell their patient that so they are given more time to not forget!!  Please let me know what the outcome is for you.....good-luck.

Thank you so much for your response.

I've been taking Acyclovir for three days and the pain subsides for a bit then comes back.

Do you think that I may burned the inside of my urethra? Think about it, when someone's offside skin burns, isn't there ulcers or sores that swell up and pop again? The pain is only in that one area inside my penis. In addition, I took 600mg of ibuprofen before sleeping and it felt great. When I woke up, the shooting pain returned.

The doctor was just so sure. I'm honestly just preparing for the worst and how to tell my girlfriend. I feel so guilty I cannot even sleep.

Could a wart be another std?

A genital wart is an STD, but they do not look like sores (they look like warts). It's really hard to say what you have, but if your doctor thinks it looks like a herpes ulcer, then it could be. You just need to wait for the results. I trust it was a swab test. If you did not engage in sex, then worst case scenario is that you have genital Type 1, which isn't nearly so much of a problem as genital Type 2. Outbreaks are once a year, if that, and transmission through intercourse is uncommon (usually via oral sex).

      Thank you for your response.

I keep telling myself that the extremely hot water and soap burned the mucous membrane of my urethra? I mean, when someone suffers burn wounds on their skin, they may have ulcer or sores, right?

It also can take a long time to heal because my urethra isn't exposed and I cannot apply anything topical. I notice when I take my generic acyclovir, the symptoms go away for a little but come back feeling the same. However, when I take 600mg of ibuprofen. The stinging feeling goes away for much longer. In addition, The only actual symptoms, just the stinging in the single area where the abrasion is and then a mild shooting ache inside my shaft.
