When I first learned about herpers, I learned about cuts, blisters, pimple fluid shape on the body. I wasn't aware that it causes more pain through out the body. Nerve pain ! I cry everyday due to this pain. I'm depressed . I rather have the sores vs the nerve pain. I went to the doctors thousands of.times and they told me I didn't have hsv. One day my boyfriend of 2 yrs started to feel the pain as well. Nerve pain. I thought I was losing my mind. Idk when I got this , or how I been having it . Just need someone to talk to about it . Any advice will help . Where is the cure ?!?!? How long is it going to take for them to find a cure?

I take gabapentine for nerve pain in my arm I tried it once for the nerve pain that comes with herpes and it worked. Ask your doctor about it. See if he/she is willing to let you try it. Since I already had a script and it works my OB will give me a script whe. I need it. So very sorry for your pain

I feel your pain. I'm going through my second outbreak right now. Just one sore that healed in 2 days and since then (3 weeks) I've been I'm constant nerve pain = extreme burning sensation, lower back pain, shooting pain all over my body. My doctor, despite all experiences I've been reading online from people experiencing the same, says that this is not related to herpes. How can doctors be so uninformed? How can they not see the relation between a virus that hides and travels through the nerves and nevralgic herpes causate pain?

I am so depressed, I don't feel like I would be ever able to come to terms with such an excruciating and contagious disease.

I share in the excrutiating nerve pain that comes with herpes, and it is accompanied by severe anxiety which seems to exacerbate it all.  I am 65, a professional person, and a legal medical marijuana patient in my state.  Cannabis can ease the pain and associated anxiety if that is something you are open to and have available. High doses of Valcylovir have helped and I am experimenting with Lysine as a supplement.
