I need your help....!

Hi girls,

I know the answer but sometimes you need others to say it. I've been on bhrt since March, been doing okay. We can't get testogel in the UK anymore, and so I be been waiting to start a new gel but been off it for about 5 days. This afternoon I've hit the wall, feel scared, upset, sad, angry, sick, headache, dizzy etc. Now the logical side of me knows it's withdrawal, but the frightened 5yr old is worried I'm completely crazy. Please could you spare some time to put my mind at ease, I'm worried. Thankyou for reading xxx

Hi Sassy,  Gosh, I am sorry you feel awful.   I feel like hell too.  Questioning everything!  Almost passed out putting my younget on the bus.  Dizzy, nauseous, headache brewing...period just ended...what gives!  It’s noon and I have not said a word to anybody in my house.   I am sorry I cannot help...but hopefully it will pass! You always breathe such positivity into these discussions. 😉

Thanks Lou, that means so much. I do try really hard to maintain positivity, just escaped me this afternoon. You know what it's like, it's difficult to get perspective when every nerve is telling you you're in danger! That'll teach me a) not to skip hypnotherapy, b) not to let the testosterone run out c) to fall into old patterns! I've mowed the grass, drunk a load of water, and I'm in the process of sucking it up. Just felt like I could do with a big hug.... Thankyou!..... Now go talk to someone in your housesmile ? xxx

      P. S Lou, that last bit was a joke. You don't have to talk to anyone unless you want to ? xx

You mowed the lawn!  RESPECT! That’s awesome 🤗

You will get through it. Its hard! Peri and meno are hard...but you are a survivor. There is nothing wrong with you that is not normal at this phase of life...and especially since you are having hormonal withdrawl at the same time. Hold on girl...make a cup of tea and relax as much as you can the next few days. You will get through it...you are not crazy, nor are you going to go crazy...i promise. I know the feeling. It passes!

    Big hugs

I’ve been on the testosterone 2 weeks now and it’s just a low dose but not seen or felt any benefit from it yet .

It should still be in your system ? It takes weeks months  I believe to leave you.

      Hi Lori

Thanks for your post. I'm also extremely sensitive to meds, so it may be that it stays in your system but you can guarantee if anyone's gonna see a change it'll be me! 😬 X

Please pardon my ignorance but why testogel? Is that part of HRT? I feel same symptoms, going through peri and last 6 months been hell. I'm on low dose birth control. It's not helping much.

It’s supposed to boost your energy and libido I don’t have a boyfriend so ... that part doesn’t matter . Not felt anything on the energy side of things yet .

      Hi dramisha

As Lori said, it boosts confidence, libido, helps with the anxiety too. It was just part of my prescription when I saw a specialist in the nuffield, Bristol. I have to say that the first time trying bhrt about 2 yes ago, I had boundless energy and definitely saw a difference in sex drive..... This time not so much. I've managed to work out the new doseage of the replacement so hopefully back on track xx

Yes it’s all about the doseage ... why did you stop the old BHRT if it was working for you ?

At the time I couldn't get my gp surgery to support the prescription Lori, and it was really expensive. Not all doctors in the UK are into bhrt, they generally prescribe synthetic solutions, which didn't suit. When I had my crash this year they gave in smile x

That’s ridiculous ! It should be given free to us ! The fact we literally cannot function without something ! And yes the world still needs women over 50 .

I crashed in April and it’s all been up and down mostly down since then .
