this is herpes isnt it. im so devastated. i had a new partner and he took his condom off and i didnt know. i took a std test right after but herpes wasnt included. then my psychologist increased my lamotrigine a few days later and i started to have a rash around my vaginal opening, i thought it was just a yeast infection so i started using vagisil and vagistat. then i started noticing sores and i got swabbed, getting the results back in a week. i havent been able to stop crying.

Hi to all who followed this post, so I did get my results back and I have HSV-2! After doing a ton of research I realized this isn't quite big a deal as I thought it was. The worst thing about herpes is the stigma and the mental toll of the first diagnosis. I started getting the symptoms a week ago, my doctor put me on valycyclovir while I waited for the results and now the sores are basically gone! Plus it has a low transmission rate, especially with the use of valycyclovir and condoms! It might be incurable but it's really just a skin condition on the genitals, and 1/6 people have herpes, most of them just don't know it! it doesn't mean I'm no longer the person I was or that I can't do the things that I used to do. I'm the same person except now I have a skin condition. While I do wish I had been more careful so that I could have avoided this situation entirely, it is what it is now. So to everyone who is going through this, I'm sorry first and foremost, give yourself a few days to cry it out, do your research, and remember that you are the same person, nothing has changed. You are lovable and sexy and beautiful and handsome and so so so deserving of love.
