hey there
i was on 40mg of flu 4 quite a while, i cant get my prescription coz i really cant afford it...
anyway, iv been of them for maybe 3 weeks, could be longer, im not sure.
i get weird dizzy moments... might have started a week ago and use to only get it when i was tierd, but now i get it evry few minutes, its like if my head is spinning backwards or something. im just recovering from a cold as well, but it seems that the dizzynes is getting worse...
im starting to wonder if that might have something to do with that i rapidly stoped taking flu???
plese help sum1, its a uncomfortable feeling
thanks

Also tell them about not being able to afford the medication, maybe there is something they can do to help you.

I weened myself off flu over a few months but once i got to 11 days off i really started to suffer with dizzy spells, all days practically so i went back on them but now only take one every 5 days. So i definately think its withdrawal from flu. If i was you i'd definately go back to the docs and explain. Most docs say that there are now withdrawal symptoms though but there are most definately. As Healthygerbil said there maybe something they can do to help.
Good luck

it's not a good idea to stop anti depressant meds abruptly miscellaneous :? due to fluoxetene having a VERY long half life, you may have worse withdrawl symptoms to come yet
however if you are on a low income you CAN get help with prescription charges, you need to fill in an HC1 form which you can get from, Jobcentre Plus offices and NHS hospitals should also have HC1s available. Some GPs, dentists, opticians also have them. :ok:
speak to your doc again, he/she will advise you accordingly

i finally got my prescription, so glad im back on them. the headaches are still there and my sleeping pattern is all messed up. i have very little energy. i sleep for like 6 hours then im awake for 6 hours then fall asleep again
I've seen in previous posts that different brands of flu can work a bit different and i got a different brand from what i normally get. Instead of the green capsules from Tilomed i got white/blue capsules from Winthrop.
has anyone tried the ones from Winthrop and Tilomed? if so i would like to know if they are any different.
cheers

i've had both types of fluoxetine, i can assure you there is absolutely NO difference in the active ingredients from brand to brand miscellaneous :ok:
prozac was the patented name of fluoxetene, but when the patent ran out in 2001 other manufacturers could manufacture prozac under it's generic name (chemical name) fluoxetene  different manufacturers use different colour 'codes' on their particular tabs, thats all miscellaneous
it's an 'urban myth' that there is a difference  in the UK, it's simply UNTRUE that there is a difference
cheers,

I agree with you Ken. I'm on liquid flu and have got 3 different brand manufacturers at the moment.
They all have the same basic ingredient. The latest one says it has peppermint flavour - could have fooled me but it tastes nicer than the other ones and is more syrupy which helps when i have the morning shakes!!
They all do the same job adequetly.
Best wishes to you both.

I keep getting dizzy and what almost feels like twinges in my head where it feels like the room spins for a second...
And the headaches are unreal!!
It's been 3 days over the weekend because I haven't been able to get a doctors appointment and I feel crazy!
I wouldn't recommend to anyone just stopping prozac, (I've been on it since Jan..) the side effects are mighty confusing.. e.g. it's 4.25am and I'm still up!! WHAT THE HELL
lol
