I think I have Fibro. Does anyone share my symptoms?

My condition began Oct 13 2014 I experienced a sharp stabbing pain in my back/shoulder gurdle.my heart began racing and I rushed to ER. EKG, chest X-rays, nothing showed up.

Dec 15 2014 I had hot flash, palpitations and lightheadedness. At night a had tightness/pain in my left chest while laying down. Relieved by sitting up. Went to ER. EKG/X-ray, nothing.

January was the worst month. I got off birth control pill to see if that was a factor. So for Ive realized the pain comes like clockwork during my pms. I've been diagnosed with GERD and suffer from anxiety. I'm perfectly fine the entire month but the minute ovulation begins, bam! Feels like I'm dying and all I can do is sleep. It's interrupting my daily fuctions, and is making work hard for me.

This cycle has been the worst. Here are my symptoms:

Anxiety

Tension headaches/migraine

Fatigue/tired from everything

Sensitive skin

Worsening vision

Chest pains/aches

Back pain

Trouble sleeping

Spasms, in every muscle I can think of.

Shivers

Arm pains

Ear ringing

Dizziness/lack of balance

Jaw pain

Grinding teeth at night

I cry.. All the time. (but I think that's jist pms lol)

So far the GERD pills are working, and I've had less esophageal spasms because of it which was causing most of what I thought were "palpitations" but now the pain during my pms is worse. I also take clonazepam which sometimes helps at night. Do you think I might have Fibro?

Hi priscilla, it could be FM but it's odd that it seems to be cyclical. That's not typical of FM. Maybe you need to have your hormone levels checked? You don't say how old you are, and are obviously still having regular cycles, but is it possible you may be approaching the menopause? x

well you have something hun ,hard to say if its fibro it took 6 yrs before i was diognosesd , you got some of the symptoms but these symptoms could be linked to so many other conditions.

look up the pain points chart for fibro . inside of elbows knees shoulders hips ankles etc if you 6 or more of these pain points its a good indication that it could be .

try to do a relaxtion hypnoses cd once aday theres loads for aniexty ,do it twice a day if you can but at least once do it  for 7 weeks see if your symptoms become less intense  al of your are also the symptoms of servere anixety to . eek

Some of your symptoms do sound like fibro, but it seem to have come on you very fast,it usually takes a long time for more symptoms to progress.Starts in one pacific area then builds up to others, stronger pain etc.

Definitely go and see your GP,it might be something else completely.

    Best Wishes.

Priscilla, mine all started in September 2014. I have similar symptoms to you and have had many blood tests, all of which have come back negative. I have developed dreadfully clicking joints and at times feel i have been run over by a train. I have been told  I have Fobromylgia. I feel I have a constant temperature and always aching. I have not been able to work. I  really don't know if i will ever work again and my GP believes the same. Very soon i will no longer be paid and Iwondered if anybody else is going through similar. My whole life has changed. I was so active and fit before all of this. I often wonder if they haven't done enough tests. I do know what you are going through

Hi Julie, I was a registered nurse for 34 years, until last year when I gave up my registration as I was no longer able to fulfil my role. My employers were on the point of dismissing me, and we went through all the official processes. They went through any other vacancies within the hospital, (a small private one) and the one that appealed, and I thought I might be able to do, was a temporary post as a ward clerk, which I took. It was 20 hours a week, 2&1/2 days, and was mainly deskbound. I loved it, although it meant halving my income. I applied for PIP and was awarded the standard rate of both parts. Gradually, though I struggled with the job, and had a lot of time off sick. I haven't worked for the last month, and my GP has now signed me off for the remainder of my contract (end of March.) on April 1st, with my GP signing me off again, I will be claiming Employment Support Allowance. Meantime, DWP have contacted me to review my PIP, and I'm hoping it will be changed to enhanced rate. My symptoms are now the worst they've ever been. I wish you luck. x

Hello Jeanne, I too am a registered nurse. I have been for the past 22 years working for the NHS. I will no longer receive an income after next month. They really don't know what to do with me as such. They are  awaiting reports from my rheumatoligist who seems to be under the impression that I may improve. I am no longer able to drive as due to intense pain and lack of concentration on the roads. Sometimes I cannot even get out of bed in the morning. A colleague that I haven't seen since September came to see me yesterday and told me I had aged so so much in the past 6 months.. I want to think I may improve but after 6 months like this I'm not so sure. At times  I wonder if there is something else wrong with me and I have been misdiagnosed x

Well, it certainly sounds like fibro to me, I'm sorry to say. Are you claiming any benefits? x

I'm not Jeanne.  Im just wondering how I will go about this to be honest as I have never claimed benefits before

Google claiming benefits UK. There is help out there. CAB are another good source of help. I would suggest you contact them, as they should be able to advise you about your employment situation as well. Good luck Julie. x
