I think I have phismosis?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I am a fifteen year old boy who just started developing around the start of this year. I have noticed that when my penis gets fully erect that I have troubles stretching the foreskin back.

Is this normal for a person my age? Or by now should I be able to pull it back fully?

Most males can fully retract by that age, but it sometimes takes a little longer, and you may find it easier to retract in a year or two.  Can you retract easily when soft?

Phimosis by itself isn't a huge problem, but paraphimosis (where the foreskin is retracted but won't go back ) would be a serious issue if you have an erection that won't go away because the foreskin won't retract.

As ever, a medical professional who's examined you in person could give you better advice.  I'm not sure if you'd be allowed to post pics here btw, since you're under 18.

If you search this forum for "phiimosis", the first three links may be useful, though the first one is intended for medical professionals.

Normally you would be able to by your age but some men, even as adults are not able to. If it becomes a problem there are non-surgical treatments that can loosen up the foreskin and allow it to retract. Look for info on "non-surgical phmosis treatment". It usually involves stretching the skin on a daily basis and sometimes a mild steroid cream.

    Hello :-)

As you describe it, your foreskin is a little tight, but is it retractable while you're not in errected state? It's very common to have a foreskin that won't retract completely and especially if you're still young as the foreskin might get somewhat looser by time. If it doesn't feel unconfortable then its up to you if you go ahead and do some stretching excercises of the foreskin or if you just leave it as it is. You've been this way for fifteen years noe and it isn't something that happened all of a sudden. Whatever you do, try not to force your foreskin further back than it allows during masturbation, as it might get stuck behind the glans. Good luck whatever you deside to do.
