Hi dears I started B75 Complex vitamin last month and they have calmed my system down cause I was like the Tasmanian Devil haha.  They are all the B vitamins good for moods.  Great for PMS too.  Google about them.  They are in a lot of foods we eat but just need more at this devilish time.  My family wonder what's with you? Why you being so nice. hehe. xxoo

    HI Tracey

I share your position...that being in perimenopause....having various symptoms like occasional night sweats, erratic period, hot and sweaty during the day and as of the last two months sudden panic attacks and anxiety with hot flushes....I am on effexor xr 75mg daily anyway as I have moderate anxiety which the effexor (been on it for last 13 months, zoloft before that) dealt with brilliantly.

I visited the doctor Tuesday as the sudden anxiety and panic and weepy vulnerable state was bad last week.

I thought perhaps my effexor was no long effective. She said she thought it was definitely my hormones and every other symptom classic perimenopause. She said to hang tight for next two weeks as I am having hormone blood tests in 2 weeks approximately when my period is due and then we can assess the mood changes. She said mood changes nothing to do with serotonin levels, purely oestrogen/progesterone imbalance or decline.

She did suggest practically to cut out caffeine and limit myself to 2 cups coffee daily and no other caffeine (whether in tea or soft drinks) and to drink camomile tea which is Soothing.

My doctor said we would discuss HRT and other medication options next visit after results are in. She also said HRT risks minimal if you are under 50 (which I am at 44 yr old).

I don't know what I will do, but I will be reading up on HRT and other medication options as I want to be fully informed and also get respite from the horrid panic and anxiety with hot flushes.

Best of luck, and let me know how you travel and any thoughts you might have.
