I think I may have LPR

I have been treated for GERD for several years now. For the past six months my tongue has been ultra sensitive to anything acidic. It is sore and kind of splotchy.  I have woken up choking in the middle of the night and now after having a cold I am experiencing very sore throat, feels dry and like I have a lump in my throat and I constantly have to clear my throat. . I sleep sitting up but nothing seems to help. I am avoiding acid causing foods but that doesn’t even seem to matter.  I just woke up feeling the acid coming up my throat. I am at my wits end and having great anxiety over it. It even hurts to breathe sometimes and makes me cough. I just read about LPR. Does anyone have this and does it sound like I may have it. It feels like my throat is Inflamed and closing up but it does feel better if I breathe through my nose. Also, it seems my symptoms are better in mornings and worsen as day goes on. Please help!

Many people, perhaps all who have acid coming into their mouth have Sleep Apnea.  Treat the sleep apnea and the reflux will become manageable again. Test for Sleep Apnea by having a (take home) sleep study.

It is assumed that you are doing the basics; bed head raised, no alcohol, no food an hour or so before going to bed.

Thank you John. There is a take home sleep study?  I’ve never heard of that.
