I had a baby 12 weeks ago .. all was great and still is but a couple of weeks ago I had a huge fall out with friends we have since made up but I have been terribly anxious since then... I have had intrusive thoughts about my baby who I love dearly and would never want any harm to come to I am breast feeding ... I guess I am just looking for some hand holding advice

My heart goes out to you. What a time to fall out with mates. I know it's easy to say but honestly:don't be so hard on yourself. You've just had a baby, your hormones are all over the place. It a big thing having a baby. I should know I've had 2. The intrusive thoughts you are having is just the result of a tired mind. It's an emotional time for you. I've also had intrusive thoughts and the more you try to push them out, they get stronger and even more intrusive. The thoughts may be about doing really bad things but you are thinking these horrible thoughts because it's the worst thing that can happen. Believe me you would never act on them. They are scary though. I also breastfeeding fed which can be draining. Have a chat with your GP they won't judge you. This is more common than you think. Hope this helps, good luck, Donna x

I totally understand where you are coming from. Feeling anxious can be debilitating at times. I genuinely think you are feeling like this because you've just had a baby and it can take a long time to recover. (not that having a baby is a bad thing) I mean your body has been through a lot. This can easily affect your mind. I reckon, see the doctor and tell them how you are feeling. Your anxiousness may pass or may not. Ultimately, it's whether you can cope with it. If it gets too much, medication could help. You shouldn't have to suffer x
