I think my Thyroid may be Hyper again. What should I do?

Hello my name is Ashley, I am 15 and first got diagnosed with Graves disease when I was 12. After starting treatment I started feeling a lot better.

This spring I had been extremely tired, no matter how much I slept I was always tired. So when I saw my Endo in the middle of this I told him this. So instead of taking 50mg of Levothyroxine 6 days a week and taking none on Sunday he's had me take 50mg 5 days a week and 75 on Saturday and Sunday.

I saw him on July 13th it's now July 31st and my Anxiety is through the roof, I am more jittery, and my heart is racing.

My Anxiety is always worse in the summer because I am always left home alone 15-18 hours a day and I see no one because none of my friends live nearby. I've had Anxiety problems my whole life.

His office is only open on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Hi Ashley, I'm 16 and have had thyroid disease since I was 12 too. I now have hypothyroidism, but before having my thyroid removed I had hyperthyroidism. Along with that, I have graves disease, and social anxiety, so I can kinda relate to you! It sounds like your thyroid isn't completely under control yet and you should tell your parents, and see the endo again. You can get blood tested and that will help your endo decide if he needs to up your meds. I hope you feel better soon

    Hello Ashley

It could be your thyroid causing it and it would certainly be wise to get this checked out as soon as you can, althiugh I don`t think it will help your anxiety to be alone so much, we are social creatures us humans and we all ned company especially at a young age when we are develpoing our personalities, ask your parents if they can help you with your social life, join some community things or have a freind stay over or you stay over at freinds being alone will definately cause some negative feelings. x Thinking of you x

Hi, I am so sorry to hear about that. Get that checked asap because it could get very bad very fast if left untreated. I was diagnosed at 10 and I had my surgery at 12. No regrets about that at all, just don't let it get out of control. Go get tested asap I can't stress it enough because mine spiraled out of control and I felt horrible, I went a full week with minimal sleep because I couldn't stop shaking. Just wanted to say though, the surgery is tottaly worth it. I am 14 now and I feel SO much better. Best of luck.
