I’ve had pain under my right rib for 5 months.

Posted , 7 users are following.

Amylase, lipase are slightly elevated. IgG4 elevated as well. Normal X-ray, ultrasound, mri, CT, endoscopy, HIDA scan and ultrasound by endoscopy.  Pain continues under right rib. Some fever/hot flashes. Some pain with exertion.

I’ve confused the doctors. Can anyone help?

You could have sludge that is not visible on any scans but is irritating your pancreas.   With raised pancreatic enzymes I would ask for an EUS which will take a closer look at your pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts.   Either that or a mrcp.  Good luck!

Just had a EUS yesterday which showed everything was normal. The doctor did say he saw some striation in my gallbladder.  He didn’t seem too concerned about it.

    Hi

    i completely agree with Rachel!!

she is bang on the money here I’ gave to say.

ide start with an Mrcp scan.

if that shows nothing I’m afraid ide have to have the endoscopic ultrasound Nanci.

which of course has its own risks , hence why the mrcp first.

i wish you all the luck in the world x

    dont leave this Nanci ?

and please let us know how you got on.

Ha ha ha you confused the Dr's, that's not hard to do, MY consultant read my history and told me I am suffering with back pain Ha ha ha but the really awful thing is, the Hospital is incompetent or at least the radiologist is in coming out with their BS now I am suffering until Jan 19th because some fool cant do their job.  Its a joke.

I suffer with what you do and the Consultant said non of what you or I describe amounts to GB well thats very good when your not suffering to say that, I sincerely wish they have a dose of it soon themselves and I have been suffering for over 3 years with this and have had mis diagnosis over those years from Dr's let alone the Hospital.

I had an episode of shoulder back pain bloating temperature and feeling unwell about 2 months ago it all pointed to gallbladder.I had an ultrasound scan which showed a fatty liver and 2 small liver cysts ,but no stones seen .I was referred to liver specialist who sent me for another us scan today it showed 3 small liver cysts which are apparently common and there were lots of small stones moving around in my gallbladder I am  still getting rt sided discomfort and pain going through to my back.So I am now awaiting anther appt but if I had not had 2nd scan the stones would not have been picked up also scanner was lovely this time chatting and showing me photos.I also get very hot at times.

I fully sympathize with you and I dont have stones but sludge and was told that sludge will indeed when blocking ducts will cause you to flush or get hot, thus causing sweating.  Also within sludge MAYBE tiny stones the Ultrasound cannot pick up!

Gallbladder problems seem to be so varied and there are lots of different symptoms caused but unless they find something on a scan nothing is proven, I have probably been having symptoms for a long time but had not realised it even putting it down to my age,I was relieved when I saw stones on the scan yesterday but afraid at the same time as it almost certainly will mean removal of gallbladder.I am on a diet at present as being unwell made me look at my diet and fitness it has given me the motivation to be as healthy as I canbe.
