Ok so this may seem a little unusual to notice, and wonder if anyone can shed some light onto it or if anyone has also noticed it or maybe can prove it not to be the case
I've been up all night again I know right insomnia sucks eggs anyway I have been reading posts answers and advice on so many things a whole range of problems altho depression being the one I concentrate on most as I know how it feels the signs the epic highs and the crushing lows
Anyway I got to thinking it seems to me that everyone that has posted on here answers and questions alike seem to be of good educational level Infact there's some really damn smart people on this site and talking and experancing depression.
So I'm thinking has that for anything to do with the condition itself is it a case that our minds are so absorbent so quick I'm thinking it becomes stagnant when it's not used to its full potential kinda like a boredom thing so it creates its very own problem to deal with.
If so surly the best cure for depression is education a way to stimulate the mind I mean I could be so wrong it's just every post I've read is from someone that is intellectual any way it WA just a passing thought does anyone have any thoughts on this could the answer on how to cure depression be so subtle it's simply been over looked it seems to me that everyone that has posts on here is or has been a keen learner I'm yet to discover someone whom is not articulate on this site as I said I could be so wrong but hey if I am I still paid you all a very good compliment you clever little bunny you lol
What do you think could it be somthing as subtle as your intellectual level that brings this on

Hi Jessica I love that name it's my daughters name so your already cool to me lol,
I get that and I understand your stance point your right of course we all are other wise we wouldn't be here my observations tho are I little more that based on the illness or why we are here. It's more looking at people use correct vocabulary to express their feelings how the words they use are powerful, descriptive, there's other factors to everyone here has reached a level of success over come so much, it seems a very common theme as if the brain is aware we are successful in lots of things but then when something fails in our lives maybe a job loss or a partner or just the feeling of not being able to climb the ladder further our mind blames us as if it's highlighting to use possible reasons why we arnt that successful after all am I making any sense so we accept we are not that successful maybe we got it wrong so we stop pushing ourselves I mean what's the point right? We got and had it all wrong so the mind lays almost dormant fox using on where and when it went sour and the reasons behind it mainly our own shortcomings so we admit defeat against our better judgement and start to self hate that is the recipe for depression wouldn't you agree, what if we could reeducate the mind give it knew knowledge to absorb even if it was something as simple as a new Language basically show our minds there are still things to learn we have not reached the top of our game with nowhere to go Infact we do still have purpose and there's still much to learn I think it make break that boredom of the mind and give us less time and chance to dwell on the shortcomings but to focus on the future it's just a theory tho I guess

Hi,
Answering for myself, I try to be articulate because I often feel that's all I have left to show, hint, to how I once was.
I had an accident at work which left me with severe cervical spine damage. Before the accident I was a fit and healthy, hardworking person. Now, having taken early retirement at 61 years of age I am almost useless, my wife now takes care of most things anything that needs doing in the house or garden we have to buy in the labour , our savings are diminishing fast and my wife is fretting.
On top of all that I am waiting for the invitation to apply for pip to replace my dla. Depression, anxiety and ptsd together with my physical restrictions, but I can write an articulate email- the gift that keeps on giving.
Mike.

I must admit I never considered that possibility before, but it may have some merit. As the old saying goes: "Ignorance is bliss."

Mm interesting point. I wouldn't say that everyone on the site is very bright though even if they are articulate. They many be bright intellectually but there are different levels of intelligence and emotional intelligence is probably more important.
They say most serial killers and many criminals are very intelligent..... x

Our personal health problems can make us more understanding to others with similar illnesses , can suggest what may help us may help others to cope with our ongoing anxieties , we can relate to others , as we get older then we become more experienced , i don't have Health Anxiety so cannot relate to others or help others , i have depression an basic anxiety so i will try when i am able to , to comment on a persons posting , i don't consider myself clever , intelligent or smart those others will disagree ( family , friends , Samaritans ) , i do have empathy though an will try an do what i can to help others , be kind , give respect where it is deserved .

You will most probably know in the UK depression and its treatment follows crtain pathways as does Anxiety.
Many know the negative feelings Depressives or others with Mental Health problems go through within a uncaring society.People come here for care and encouragement where people do not judge
