You should never just stop taking these meds abruptly - they have to be weaned off over many months, or you'll be very ill.

6 minutes late at the doctors?   And I wonder how many times you've had to sit and wait for your doctor........  I had a receptionist bark at me once that I'd missed my appointment because of a few mins late and I refused to move insisting that I'm always kept waiting by my doctor.  I was seen.

Do you have to see your doctor to get reinstated back onto the meds?

Hi katecogs, yes 6 minutes late I rang up 50 minutes before saying I may possibly be late the doctor said to me if I'm more than 10 minutes late they won't see me,so when I got there I was 6 minutes late I couldn't sign in on the fast machine as I was over my appointment went to the desk waited 15/20 minutes because there was 3/4 people in front of me the receptionist was very rude towards me,they haven't got an emergency appointments I could have gone to another doctors that's no where near me at 7.20pm or to the hospital rolleyes! I started feeling very sick on the tablets after about 6 weeks of taken them so I stopped taking them I know I shouldn't have stopped as my doctor told me not to stop because I could get poorly, now I regret it! I feel like a mad women I'm not my normal self

That's disgraceful that you had to wait in the queue and was the deemed late - you weren't late, you were there.  It was incompetence of the system that made you look late.

I don't know what gives some receptionists the idea they can be rude to people.  Shouldn't be doing their job if they can't be civil.  I'd complain.

The meds can be tough to take, but the side effects will wear off.  They will also work, but they take a very long time ...... you just have to keep going.

Are you in the UK?  Do you have a minor injuries unit, because if you're not feeling well due to missing the mediciation, you could always go there and see if you could some meds to tide you over until you get to see your doctor.

Am so glad you managed to see your doctor and are on meds again.  Ah could well be why you feel so low having tonsillitis - that's painful.  Surprising what knocks us off our feet.

Hope you recover from the tonsillitis soon, and hope the Sertraline helps too xx
