Its trial and error with the meds. You start to feel that none of them are ever going to do anything, but suddenly find one that works. When I say "works" the pain doesnt go away, but it can be decreased, either by meds or if the stress reduces that can relieve the pain. Different things work for different people and you need to try them all and then some. My friend uses a TENS machine and swears by it but it just doesnt work for me. I also found that a "stuff the pain" attitude can help. Obviously, some days this just isnt possible, it can be too much. But on days when the pain isnt so bad and they do start to happen, I go about my business as usual whether i feel like doing it or not, swimming, shopping etc, all stuff that wears me out but i do it anyway, like im kicking the fibro by managing to do it. Either way, keep at it, try everything offered and research what other people use and try them too. Good Luck.

Im also diabetic on metformin and victoza so im fairly ceratin these meds dont affect the fibro meds, im also on 8 paracetamol a day and citalopram. tried amytriptyline but it knocked me out and gabaprentin sent me mental so had to come off that fairly quick. For me, nothing works for the pain ( a combo of paracetamol and ibuprofen and a hot bath is best for me) but the key for me was reducing the stress, which the citalopram did. Once the stress was reduced the pain decreased to a manageable level. I just sent off for some oxylife which a lot of people have recommended so will let you know if this does any good. carol
