Hi All, i had my appointment with my gyne today and he thinks i am suffering with IBS as well as probs with my womb, he said that before considering surgery cos of the clots and pains he wants to treat my ibs (bowel problems) he has put me on 5 tablets a day as well as painkillers, he said that ibs will cause a lot of pain as well as the pains with my clots.  I have to go back and see him in 3 months to see how my bowels are and hopefully get my womb sorted.  Has anyone else suffered this? i didnt know i had probs with my bowels sad

    Hi ginny

When I first went to see my docter a year ago they gave me tablets for ibs for 3 months then go back to see him. I told him I never had a problem with going toilet. I took the tablets for a few months ans all they did was give me wind. Then I was booked in for them to have a look was was giving me the pain and when I came round after op he said I had a very bad case of endometriosis and said they only way was for a full hysterectomy with my oviers to go. Which I had in Nov 15th last year. Iam about 17 weeks post op ans still very sore now they think they have done somthings to my bladder so got to have some more test because I keep getting water infections. Don't let them fob you off. You no your own body. Hope this helps xx

hi - whats side of IBS do they think you have as in i have severe IBS (D) which is with diarrhea and i sufferbarely no pain at all just when i get the feeling i have to go within about 30 seconds hich to say the least isn't much fun, i take approx 6 - 8 loperamide tablets (imodiums) per day just to be normal (ish lol). This has all been documented by the doctors each time i've had a pre-op assessment, will be going to my 3rd one tomorrow as op been cancelled 3 times, and at no point have they said it will cause problems with the TAH i'm hopefully having on 13th April.  I can only assume you have the constipation side of IBS and they are worried about you strainging after an op.

Your symptoms sound like mine but turned out to be endometriosis and not IBS but symptoms same especially if endo grown on bowel too. It also causes clotting and heavy painful periods. It doesn't show on scan very well and only way to truely find out is investigatory op. Has this been mentioned at all ?
