IBS or??????

Been to the doctors 4 times now and no definite answer to what I have, although he suspect ibs.
My symptoms are Bloated stomach and when I eat it goes even bigger as if I'm pregnant (I'm male btw). I did have acid reflux which the doctor prescribed me with some pills that I took for a month and stopped the acid reflux ever since. I did a h pylori test via stool sample but it came back clear.
This week I had 4 blood samples taken as the doc wanted to check for H pylori again! Plus some other check. He said if it comes back clean then I may take a colonoscopy.
The only symptoms I have right now are..
-Bloated stomach (had it for nearly a year)
-No hunger pains like I used to (but I do eat anyway)
-3kg weight loss. (altho I'm constantly ill with common colds, flu, viruses which don't help)
-stools sometimes softer than usual.
-excess mucus in throat, sometimes makes me gag
The acid reflux stopped altogether, it was bad before. I stopped eating 4 hours before I go to bed, so that probably helps.
I am in no pain, no blood in the stools.
Help and advice appreciated

Hi I have all the symptoms and was saw a G.I. consultant who talk through symptoms and gave me a check up. She says it's IBS. Bloods Negative Abdomen scan normal.
having Colonoscopy next week just to be sure. I do get some tummy pan in various places..... I have been told to cut out gluten and keep a food diary.
for example I know now Bran flakes make my symptoms worse and peppermint tea and peppermint oil capsules help me too

Hi slogan,
I also get lower back pain sometimes, don't know if related. So do you have all the symptoms as what I have? Any other symptoms? And you've been diagnosed with ibs?. I really miss the feeling of waking up and feeling hungry. I want to feel starving again and scoff on lots of food!. I'm in my early 30s and quite slim, I was 70kg but now 66. 9kg in the last 3 months.

Yes I get lower back pain, especially if I have a restless night which happens quite a lot. Dr put me on diazepam and this helped me sleep a lot.....not that I recommend anti depressants. This helped me relax more. My stress lowered and symptoms reduced.
Last year I lost my appetite in summer for about 4 months reduced weight and then panicked as that is a red flag symptom. But as I relaxed my appetite returned. and put more weight on than I had before... the weight gain made me feel even better. Mad most people want to loose it and I liked gaining it.
Like Martin said I have now found eating lots of bread and pizza can make me bloated.... drinking alcohol can too.... so I have reduced all this as much as possible....All this has helped reduce symptoms though I still get them bit now I have an Ibs label that helps and I try to ignore the symptoms and not get worked up about them..which stresses me and symptoms then increase.
Yes I have had it told to me that it's Ibs by a G.I cancer consultant. She is letting me have a Colonscopy as peace of mind.
I'm also nearly 50 and the procedure is recommended then again for peace of mind.
So try try try to keep your stress levels down....that an high fibre food and or gluten a lower intake
For me Colpremin has been a god send but some people I know have made symptoms worse..... keep a food diary and see when you feel bad. I have started to see a symptom patterns in the last few weeks as I said Bran being one and Gin and Tonic being another.
G.I has said swimming can be a big help as well

Lower back pain is related to IBS because the lower part of your colon wraps round your lower back. I have had low back pain and I have IBS. I don't bloat but everyone is different. If you are unwittingly eating a food regularly that is irritating you, this may be why your bloating is constant.

My point of view, if you eat foods made from wheat such as breads and wholemeal products, wheat is hard to digest it can cause havoc with your guts it also contains phytic acid which I've read is a anti nutrient, I had terrible bloating when eating wholemeal bread even white bread, but there's another type of bread, it's called sourdough bread and it's great stuff no bloating no cramps no diarrhoea, it's fermented bread and basically where the process using bacteria digest the wheat for you and gets rid of most of the phytic acid, I eat the white uncut loaf, you could check it out if you think it may help you.

Thanks,
I'm yet to believe its IBS personally, i read the bloated feeling with IBS comes and goes. However mine has stuck with me every hour of each day. So im not sure its IBS, unless of course that its still possible to have a constant bloated stomach with IBS. I eat high fibre cereal in the mornings, every morning. Probably not good IF it is IBS?.

I had bloating all day every day until if slept when it would go. I'd wake up think about my tummy and over a 2 min period feel the bloat return. And then over time as I reduced stress the bloating would go.
And then it would slowly return in evening. And reset an go in morning. Now blaoted feeling is a lot lot less. I Still get it but I ignore it or drink peppermit tea and it goes.

Yeah no pain at all.
Just:
-Constantly bloated for 10 months
-No appetite
-3kg Weight loss
I actualyl didn't tell the doctor about the weight loss on the last visit, because i didn't know what my weight was. But i do know i was 3kg more not so long ago, and my diet hadn't changed in any way.
