In pain and very anxious!

So glad to hear that there are other people out there surfing with similar problems and I'm not alone.
For the last 12 years or so on and off I have had what I believe is an anal fissure. I have never been to the doctors because I am terrified of the thought of them sticking a finger up there!
I would be in agony when I go to the toilet a feeling like a broken glass bottle coming out and there would be bright red blood. I usually used anusol supppositories and it would ease off and clear up in a few days to a week. But it always came back every few months.
Well a few weeks ago the pain started again when I went to the toilet but no blood this time, which I have had before so I started the anusol again. It has been about 4 weeks now and still no improvement. Also I have pain in my bottom all day until I go to bed which I have never had before. Feels like a bruised soreness that is worse when sitting on. I have a sitting down job and it is horrible trying to act all normal when inside you are thinking about the pain in your backside!
I just wanted to know if others have had the pain all day long after a BM. It's more uncomfortable than painful. Also have you had the pain every day for weeks at a time? Like I said I used to get it for a week at the most then it would go but it always came back eventually. And have others had the pain but no blood for weeks at a time?
i have started to drink lots more water now because I never really did before. Coke was my main drink.
i have got myself all anxious and worried now because I have been looking things up on the Internet and keep thinking it might be an abscess or something worse. I'm so worried that I may work up some courage and go to the doctors tomorrow.
thanks for listening and any response.

I, like you, drank a lot of Coke and still have a can a few times a week. To me there is nothing more refreshing then a nice iced cold Coke. But that is not what we are talking about.
I have had A/F for just over 4 years and I was very hesitant to go to the doc as he wanted to check out the area with one of his digits ensuring it was nothing else. Ya, that was very uncomfortable but I have to say, it was far more embarressing than painful, for me that is.
He gave me some cream to apply 3 times a day and after every bowel movement. Thankfully, the A/F only lasted a few days and then I'd be good for 3-4 months.
I have a glass of metamuccil and two stool softerners every evening before turning in for the night. I am 100% positive that this would cure the issue but I am my own biggest enemy and don't drink enough water and also my type of work makes it hard to eat nutrious food regularly.
My suggestion, and if I could only listen to my own advice, is to add Metamucil every night to your bedtime routine and also a couple of stool softeners. Sounds like you are on the right path with your diet. Good on ya
It's all about diet and exercise.
So try it for a few weeks and hopefully you will feel great!
Good luck

Anusol can help as can germaloids or similar but only because of it's antiseptic properties and making the area more 'slippy' unfortunately anal fissures can be a life long problem but you can prevent them for months at a time if you do the correct things. Plenty of water, personally for me that was never a problem, I've been dehydrated before & never wanted that to happen again so I'm on top of that.
When I went to the doctors they gave me rectogestic, honestly that was worse than the fissure itself, don't take this stuff if you suffer from migraines. I solved the problem with Vaseline (stops bleeding and lubricates) and cleaned the area with warm wet tissue.
It comes back every now and then but I can control it better and have it sorted within a day

Great advise about the vaseline. Like you, I thankfully have it back under control within a day.

When the doc gave me the ointment, I had no idea that it was to be put inside. I just rubbed it externally. It helped me and maybe that is where you can start, externally and once less painful try internal.
