Incontinence...symptom of peri/meno??

Posted , 5 users are following.

Is anyone else experiencing incontinence with pari/memo?? Is this indeed a symptom? I thought I read it is.. I have always had the frequent urge to urinate, however lately my bladder has been having little spasms, like the feeling when your bladder is being pushed on. And some leakage in the middle of night while sound asleep, it woke me up and had to change clothes, (sorry TMI) but this is all so frustrating and just want to know if this is normal with the menopause! I just turned 47, and I feel like my symptoms are vamped up quite a bit.. I feel so old like I'm falling apart!! Please anyone else with these awful symptoms do share..

I had this also.. was really bad infact,, if i had a sudden gerk etc it would leak.. or just out walking rolleyes   I went on a really good Menopause multi vitamin and added a glass of soya milk a day to my diet and now its gone.. i can even cough and sneeze without any issues.. so im assuming the soya which is known to be a natural estrogen has helped.   smile

Thanks littleme, it's definitely good to know this is a symptom because again sorry for TMI but when I have to go really bad I can't wait it pulsates or like a quick spasm and then let a couple squirts out! What the hell is that lol, I absolutely want this to go away, never in my 47 years has this happened to me, and there should be no reason I can't hold it and get to the bathroom eventually with no little sqirts coming out ugh.. Either it's age or memo.. Going to look into the good multi vitamins like you suggest and see if it improves!! Thanks

Sometimes I will get up 4 times at night to go, and other nights just once. Rarely never.

And sometimes during the day I will just leak a little bit out of nowhere. And of course, sneezing always runs that risk.

My older lady friends talk about how they have a bladder issues and also lady bits start protruding out the va j j, and how everything will start shriveling up .. oh we have so much fun to look forward to don't we!

Lol Suzanne, boy oh boy never heard of the lady parts protruding and never ever want to experience that, but you know I help my mom out a lot and do a lot of her shopping and care, and pads are definitely on the list every month so I'm guessing the Apple doesn't fall to far from the tree!

At least your mom wears pads, my mother refuses for some reason and will leave wet spots on chairs. I’ve since learned my lesson and will feel seats, like at the movies or on airplanes, before I sit down!

Yeah, i dread the day when pads are needed. At least they make them though. I don't think they did years ago.
