Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has any experiences of increasing their dose in the winter months? I always seem to have a blip in the winter months, really from December to March.
I have increased my dose in the past, but in a very willy nilly unplanned way and made myself ill from it.
As always, the body regulated itself- however I find that although I have been on this medication (2 years next month) I still do struggle throughout the winter months, moreso GAD than depression... I feel happy, just fed up with anxiety.
My mind is very up and down and at times I feel absolutely fine and others awful. The times I feel ok- I feel very regulated able to deal with things... this is what is causing me to reason to increase the dose by 10 mg to fully combat my anxiety during these winter months.
Citalopram has been a lifesaver and I’m not ready to give up on it yet.
However recently, I’ve seen the importance of research into the condition and can see that knowledge is power.
Would love to have some experiences from people who have increased their medication in the winter months and how they felt?
Sending love & strength (& sunshine!)
Louise .xo

Hey Joanne, sorry for the lateness!
I am on 20 mg- think I am going to do it- along with some CBT.
Gotta be kind to myself & look after myself (especially during the winter)
Glad it was a help for you!
Do you find the winter a struggle too?

Hi. I think it's worth giving a go. I don't struggle as much due to winter I find a change of routine is harder for me. Then it all kind of spirals from there. I hope it helps. X
