Inhaled foreign object

Two days ago I inhaled something in my airways. I am not 100% sure what it was, but when that happened I was helping with screwing in bolts into a metal bar, so I could have possibly inhaled  a 1mmx1mm metal shaving(because plenty of them fell on to the ground). I had a cough for 2 days, but I don't anymore. Now I only have a little bit of a sore throat and maybe my lungs hurt a bit(from the coughing I assume?). Should I go to the doctor immediately, or don't do anything and monitorize?
