Hi all. Not sure if anyone can relate to this but a few weeks ago I had what seems to be a panic attack cooking Christmas dinner of all days... Out the blue, no stress and wonderful morning. Yes I had a very heavy cold but this came out of nowhere!
Since I have felt extreme anxiety. I have had further panic attacks which landed me in A&E Tuesday night.
It's either panic and anxiety that's causing these horrific symptoms or something is wrong that's causing the anxiety and panic as my head is in the best place it has ever been!
I do have a stressful job but its been he same for years and I also feel In control so why is this happening to me now ðŸ˜
Got prescribed fluoxetine 20mg a day and diazepam to take my anxiety down as I fell it 24/7 at the minute to the point I can't even work or drive!
I had to take diazepam for the first time yesterday and panicked about that. Everytime I take it it induces panic.
It's a viscous circle as I panic about what has caused all this and want to know but can't work it out.
Anyone else had it out the blue but loving life????

With your experience at christmas - I bet you aren't alone. Christmas is fantastically stressful even if you dont think it is. Shopping, planning, partying and doing the dinner (big respect to you!) isn't an every day occurence plus with a cold I expect you were more run down than you thought. With the anti-depressants they can take a day or two to settle down and start doing their thing. I wish the doctors told us more about what to expect because it can be terrifying and thats not an additional feeling you need at this time. I certainly feel more odd for a day or two with antidepressants but have never taken diazepam. If its still bad after a few days maybe phone the docs and check.
I feel for you - its a scary place but you're on the road to recovery and each day is a step closer to being well. I was going to say a step closer to being normal but what is normal?!!! Take care of yourself.

It is scary. Took diazepam after the hospital episode only 2mg 10am Wednesday, 2mg 8:30pm and 5:30am... Nothing since yesterday morning. Had anxiety but refraining from taking diazepam if I can.
Taken 2 days of fluoxetine and hope to go back to work Monday x

Thank you. I was taking decongestants! And stopped when I read it can cause panic attacks and anxiety. I also cut out caffine.
I am 37 and had a full hystorectomy Aug 2014 and on HRT2mg every day since
Got bloods and ECG booked for investigation next week.
Armed with diazepam but not taking it routinely as the dr said... One 2mg tablet knocked me out as never taken it before !
Feeling much better today but not done a thing. Off work and it's poop.
Hope to go in Monday as I have a good team to support me
