Irritable bowels

Hi Ladies!

Two days towards the end of my period last week I had a gastritis attack. I took a Prilosec which seemed to help. The past few days my stomach has been all turned around. I haven't been able to really eat. My stomach has been all gassy and bubbly. Today it seems like it was trying to calm down. This has happened before but it's been so long ago that I had forgotten how it felt. Any of you have stomach disturbances like this?

Hi, Ido all the time. I have acid reflux but with my anxiety it's ten times worse. It gets that bad I could pull my stomach out x

Thank you at least I know I'm not alone. I will be so glad when this calms down.

Hi shar, have you tried sipping on ginger tea or mint tea? I went through the same but I drank mint tea and this helped to get rid of the bloating.

I was unfortunately out of the ginger tea and peppermint tea. I just had to ride it out. It was awful. The thing that gets me is how you have no say so on these symptoms. They just come out of nowhere and wham, hits you. You're basically a prisoner.

You can learn to control it. But mostly when you're getting an anxiety attack. Say, no, stop it right there! It, at least for me it sends a signal to my body that it can't continue with more attacks. Everything else you simply have to ride it out. Buy the tea or raw leaves or ginger to make the tea.

Yes Sochima, I always do my deep breathing techniques to help with that. By the way, I finally bought some flax seeds like you suggested. I will boil some today and see how it helps. I'll let you know.

Okay, I forgot that Chia seeds are also good for hormonal relief. I buy a Chia drink that you can also make or eat a tablespoon of it daily just put it on your food and this works as well. Except Chia seeds are so expensive here I rarely buy it.

On the flaxseed don't forget that it needs to be just a little thick, strain the seeds, add orange or lemon or tamarind to it, refrigerate until it's cold or drink it warm.

I take licorice and mint tea, regular Earl Grey tea, Gelusil tablets and Gasex. But the most important is manipulation of my abdominal area when I lay down. I lay down and feel the areas in my abdomen that are tender. I aply a steady and firm pressure until I hear and feel the fluid or gas moving around. Sometimes I have to find another position either on my side or back to make the thing move. It brings instant relief. I have also tried puting a tight belt around my waist, it seems that my abdominal discomfort is caused by either excess gass or lack of motility.

Yes I had this for months but over the years it is getting better I can go four months without symptoms but as others have said before camomile peppermint ginger tea and lying on your stomach and bending your legs upwards from your knees help relieve the gas

Yes! At one point everything gave me gas! It has settled down now, but I still watch what I eat.
