is it gall bladder problems ?

so i have been felling nauseous for around 2 years now with reflux, heartburn, abdominal pain and discomfort, i have had a endoscopy, a ultra sound and a ct scan which found nothing. the endoscopy and ultra sound were done 2 years ago when this all started and the ct scan was done recently. but since then i have developed pain in my right shoulder blade and also been having pain on my right side sort of under the rib. but it does somtimes go to the left side under rib aswell. I had a attack of feeling very nauseous bad pain right side under rib and vomiting for about 30 mins the other day. does this sound like a gall bladder problem even though they couldent find any thing on ultr sound or ct scan. and can it just start out with just nausea and no pain and then develop then pain two years later? thank you

Mine started this way too 3 years ago. Now it's so bad I'm actually having my gallbladder removed in 2 days! I suggest getting a hydascan done. That's what they did to me and it showed my gallbladder only worked at 9%. The past month my pain has been so bad I ended up in the emergency room thinking it was a heart attack from chest pain. It was a result of my gallbladder failing. Sure sounds like the gallbladder to me. I would get the hydascan done and see how well it is functioning. Good luck!!!

Request a HIDA Scan. I never had CT scan, but ultra sound didn't show anything. HIDA scan will show at what percentage your gallbladder is operating... Under 30%, they recommend removal.

Hi Beth, sorry to hear of the difficult time you have been going through. Have you had blood tests, I guessing this would have been done. You need a scan to make sure what is causing your symptoms. It took the doctor a few months to discover I had a large Gaul stone! Which turned out to be two very large stones.

I’ve recently had my surgery to remove these. I had a gynaecology scan, by pure chance they suggested checking the upper quadrant of of my gastrointestinal system and the pictures came back I had gallbladder stones.

I had a lot of the symptoms your detailing here. I felt nauseous, pain in ribs and shoulder, and lower back.

Make sure you get all the help you can to ensure that they find out what is causing you these distressing symptoms. I made sure, I kept a record of my symptoms and how I felt over a year and attended A& E several times in pain of the course of this time. My blood tests to be more specific were showing elevated inflammation markers that something was not right.

If they had done an MR I scan sooner they would have saved a lot of time and seen the problem. Hope this helps kind regards Joanne

      That's what they wan't👎👎

My story is long so won't go into it, but i'm living in pain and have done for nearly 2 years and to be honest nobody gives a flying F#CK. I asked for a HIDA over 14 months ago was told NO.  People without question within the UK/NHS are being refused because they're expensive.

If you wan't to see something funny, youtube Jonathan Pie NHS or Jonathan Pie papering over poverty. It's rude but just about sums up the UK👍

Hi Matt57085, it is a shame of humanity I am afraid because its not just the NHS is it through the whole of society.   From elderly to the young, from rich to Homeless, money is now the ruler of all and it makes the film Mad Max very realistic.

No one would believe my story, OK I am controlling my illness the best I can by what others have told me and how to eat.   NON of which comes from the Dr's but yet on the other hand it was a marvel watching my colonoscopy on screen as they worked.

I remember January of this year going for a CT scan and I could not believe my eyes, the Hospital corridors full of beds and where ever you went, it was like a war scene, it really affected me.

Hi Julian, I got as far as being referred to the surgeon. Waited 3 months and met a nice surgeon who was willing to take it out but wanted an MRCP 1st. Met a 2nd surgeon after MRCP which was normal who has now refused to take it out and re-referred me back to the gastro.

This all took me to April and got my appt for Sept which has now been cancelled until Nov. This will take me to 2 1/2 years of feeling odd, 25 months of complaing to my GP of all my classic gallbladder symptoms, 17 months since my 1st gastro appt when i asked for a HIDA and a year since getting referred for surgery after an ultrasound which showed a shadow and thickened wall that i saw with my own eyes.

I'm going round in circles, it's a  joke and i've not been to work for over a year because i feel like crap👎

When did you get referred to see a consultant again if you've got to wait until January Julian?

Hi Matt57085 I have been suffering for years but last year 2017 Aug I became very unwell and after dancing to the NHS tune of tests upon which I was fixed up to see the consultant in April 18.  After a ultrasound test where upon I was told a lot more than anyone else has ever said I was discharged from the consultant because they found nothing wrong, CONTARY to the Stenographer words.  So in June after taking meds for gastro issues which did nothing but make my stool worse and solved nothing I finally had to see another Dr to get reffered back to the Hospital Consultant but low and behold I had been discharged so this is a new referral, where upon I have to wait until January 19. The way I am feeling is, that this Gall Bladder is going bad rather than just sludge also I am very worried about my Pancreas as it is in poor condition before all this started with GB.  So in effect I have only been chasing Dr's from Aug 17 which when you look at this site is pretty short in time HOWEVER next YEAR Jan will be a HIDA TEST then maybe Extraction which will then be about now next year 2019 unless I collapse before hand which is pretty likely!!

Has anybody had it where you have constant nausea and full pain in right side under rib and in shoulder and the sometimes it will go to a sharp stabbing pain but food I eat doesn’t not effect it at all ? I am just constantly tired and feeling ill and can’t do much .
