hi
i am at my wits end !!! i started my anxiety journey in 2013 with panic attacks and then horrid anxiety which went on for months! started with the horrific thoughts and then with so many physical symptoms ! i did so much to help get better and without medication. then in 2017 found out my dad had cancer. the next 2 years were spent in and out of hospital and i also had a baby in 2016 (my 3rd) my dad was so ill and caught sepsis and had heart problems on top of so much more !! i felt i dealt with this all fine without much anxiety. then this year in the summer i had bloods taken as i felt so tired and it showed i was low in iron and put on iron tablets. i then suddenly had the thought my dad found out he had bowel cancer from having low iron and then camera up and down ! so i silently worried and worried but in october found out my levels were back up and ok . i thought id be ok then but then i noticed my digestion problems which has been on and off for years had really flared up and was needing to take a deep breathe all the time and felt sick and lost my apetite abit. back and forward to gp to just be given omeprazole again! i then noticed i was losjng weight. i am skinny already only 8 1/2 stone so convinced myself i had cancer etc ! GP did stool sample and showed helicobacter!!! 2 attempts at the therapy antibiotics failed over a fee weeks as the side effects were too much !! i finally a few weeks ago took a different set and managed to finish the course so was convinced i would be better. nope just after stopping the meds i started to get horrible heartburn which despite the horrid burping before had never had . started taking probiotics and omega 3 fish oils but no good so doctor has now agreed to do a endoscopy. i am so scared. she thinks the helicobcor should be clear bit what else could it be now ??? is anxiety a big cause of this ?? i feel better in lot of ways but feel like im so stuck on ow i feel m making worse ??? i feel pressure in m head lot and feel quite dizzy . i m seeing a psychotherapist and dong cbt and GP has checked my weight and in last 3 wees iv not lost any more and my bloods have all l come back normal again and she felt ll my stomach area and found nothing ?? help!

An endoscopy can find ulcers. I think you may have a bad one. With all that has been happening to you and your father and stress and anxiety. Blood work will not show an ulcer. Also do you have gallbladder issues. Like nausea and vomiting. Loss of appetite is a sign of both ulcers and gall disease. Hope you find a solution. Good Luck.

Hi tracey73517
H. Pylori can take some time to eradicate. You may have had it for quite a while in which case your stomach would be severely ravaged by the HP bacteria. Try not to eat sweet sugary foods because the HP bacteria will thrive on that. Wait and see what the endoscopy shows and what your doctor suggests. HP can make you lose a lot of weight and make you feel quite ill....

H pylori can come back. Your doctor saying it should be clear, doesn't mean it actually is clear. The other possibility is the h pylori and antibiotics ravaged your gut and caused irritation. After antibiotics, you should always try yogurt to replace the good gut bacteria that antibiotics strip out. Concentrate on these simpler scenarios, don't listen to what your anxiety is telling you and don't google symptoms. Your endoscopy can pinpoint h pylori and gastritis which h pylori can cause. Try to stay as calm as possible because anxiety makes gut problems worse.
Focus on the fact that you have not lost more weight, your blood tests are clear and nothing was felt when she examined your stomach. All these things are good news for you, especially as you say that you are feeling better in a lot of ways. However, also bear in mind that anxiety can cause you to lose weight and appetite. So there are more benign reasons there too, Try not to check your weight because that can also play on your health anxiety. Focusing on a hobby or taking light exercise like walking can take your mind off your stomach and help your anxiety.
