Is my mole cancerous? Please give advice

I've had a mole for a few years now and over the years it's changed colour from light pink almost flat to a raised dark/purpley colour and back to light. This also comes with itching around the area and the mole itself. I did go to my go a couple years ago and they reffered me to a specialist but when I finally had my appointment the mole had gone back to the light pink coloured mole which they said it was fine and didn't need to analyse it. ! I've added 2 images both are in the different times
