Is this anxiety?

Hello

I'm 18 years old and 5 days ago while I was laying in bed trying to sleep my heart suddenly started to race and I had this feeling of stress.

I used to play a lot of competition 2/3 years ago and I was used to feeling nervous before matches but it always went away after.

Now this is the first time i've had this anxious feeling for 5 days for no apparent reason.

Only the day before I got this feeling I had a kind of stressful event which I was nervous for but it wasn't anything different then normally (I had times where I was way more nervous).

Now what I should mention is I stopped college 1/2 months ago because I didn't like my major and I'm supposed to start again in February now, but before that I was also stressed because I was busy getting my drivers license. Now I also kind of feel useless after that waiting for school to start.

Could this be the reason for me feeling anxious? And is this actually anxiety?

thank you for your time

    Hi

It more than likely is anxiety, it certainly sounds like it and those reasons you mention are common triggers for anxiety for sure.

Despite thinking it is anxiety, if you have had your heart checked I would personally go for a quick ecg, that way you also have a base ecg.

If you have already had it checked then I wouldn't bother.

I hope you feel better soon!
