hello! In my unfortunate opinion this does appear to be a classic herpes outbreak. Have you had recent sexual activity? You need to go to the doctor asap to get a swab - please make sure you dont wait until the ulcers heal otherwise you'll get a false negative. Best time is within 48 hours of symptoms. Otherwise igg blood test 12 weeks after exposure. All the best!

hey girl. I feel like doctors know that people dont want to hear that they have herpes. Im not being negitive or anything but that looks like classic herpes.

.. no girl. no offense but that's definitely not folliculitis. pretty sure it's herpes. go get tested for herpes asap. regardless of what your doctor said, he shouldve tested you anyway

coming from someone who suffers from actual severe genital folliculitis, your doctor couldn't have been more wrong. those are herpes ulcers to a T. please get tested when you can for yours and others safety.

right! I swear they be doing the same thing! like they give people the benefit of the doubt to not crush them or something. that's herpes not folliculitis

I see so many posts on here that are very classic outbreaks and the doctors say things like some other type of infection. The reason herpes will never be eradicated is because nobody tests for it and ppl don't know they have it. There's another post on here that looks herpetic and the doc told her bacterial. How does anyone know if they're not testing. I think you should go back and get swabbed and a blood test. I hope this is foliculitis but I just see so many misdiagnoses.

This is NOT folliculitis. For your doctor to be so ignorant and not test you properly is wrong!! No wonder there are people spreading herpes left right and center - its because stupid doctors like this refuse to test!!! Get another doctor and test properly - please please please be responsible with your sexual health to not infect other 😦

I understand where everyone is coming from. I've been taking the anti biotics for 2 days now.

I Researched and once an ulcers is healing they scab; however mines did not do that they just disappeared. Does anyone who has/have herpes did this happen to?

i have GHSV2 and mine have never scabbed they just get smaller and fade.

what was the Name of the medication they gave you?

It did not get smaller. It's like one day the ulcers were there and then they turn bumps and the bumps went away.

They gave me Clamoxin to take.

Did they actually test you for herpes? I was misdiagnosed at first too and in a way that is more upsetting.
