Is this herpes (picture attached)

Last week while showering I used my regular sponge and I scrubbed my anus, but scrubbed it pretty harder than usual. I am a gay male and I do engage in anal sex, but I always use condoms. The next day I had a really bad rash near the crack of my anus. It wasn't really itchy, just sore and irritated. I tried Destin and Cortizine 10 but it did not help. It got so bad to the point that I ended up going to the Er. When the Doctor looked at my rash he said it my be herpes but he wasn't sure and prescribed me some hc foam. I've been using the hc foam for 2 days now and it's not really healing fast. I had one bump on my but cheek, and now after I used the hc foam it has turned to this this sore. Does this look like herpes?

      1. The sores is in the place you had penetration.

      2. Herpes is transmitted through skin contact and condom cannot protect all skin

      3. Your doctor also thinks it maybe

So at this stage I think it's 50% only.

Do PCR and antibody test to confirm if it's not herpes.

      Let's hope it's not.

Yea I hope not because the thing is I didn't get the rash until I scrubbed harder than usual while showering. Wouldn't I have it in mouth too if I perform oral sex with people I have sex with?

Are Cortizine 10 and HC foam both hydrocortisone products? That can worsen some conditions, including herpes. Steroid treatments aren't indicated for herpes. Not sure if it is herpes or not, though. Could also be a skin infection, given the way it came about.

A swab test for herpes while the sores have yet to heal will tell you, but get it done asap to avoid a false negative. You might want to also test at 3 months for HSV IgG antibodies. Testing for that now would be too soon, so only good for baseline purposes.

I've noticed this morning that the sores are finally healing after I started using dove soap and the sores don't feel irritated and sore like it did before.
