Is this HIV

Hi all,

Here's my story just over 3 weeks ago I had a condom break during insertive vaginal intercourse and it lasted for a maximum of 5 mins I don't know at which point the condom broke but stopped as soon as I noticed. The female is of unknown status but assures me she's fine and I've nothing to be concerned about. Anyway on Monday of this week I started with a mild sore throat which got really bad Tuesday with small white marks on the tonsils but it's almost gone today as I type this message. I also experienced hot and cold sensations Monday and Tuesday day and night with minor night sweats. I felt a little nauseous and my stomach has felt bloated and uncomfortable but not painful! I haven't been sick or suffered any change to my stools. Yesterday i noticed 1 swollen node in my neck which is tender but all the others appear fine. My only real lingering symptom is the stomach bloating all the rest have pretty gone in 3 days. Not at any point did I feel ill enough to not work or go the gym etc. My maximum temperature was 37.7 degrees and it's been stable at 36.5 since yesterday morning without any paracetamol to control. My questions are what is the risk of this one time occasion even if she were positive? Would ars symptoms really come on and go in just over 48 hours? Would my fever likely be higher than 37.7 if it were ars? Would I experience more swollen nodes rather than just one in my neck? Is stomach bloating a sign of ars? And would the sore throat have cleared up so quickly?

I appreciate any responses to this to hopefully put my mind at ease.

The lady also states she's not been unwell at all in the last 6 months.

Thanks

Yes I did have symptoms like this over 6 months ago and I kinda recovered it was never diagnosed! I went through multiple screens for hiv and all negative. What brings me here is this is from a new exposure and it's freaked me out again.....part of me is hoping this is a reactivation of my current illness and not the dreaded HIV on top sad the lady went for testing on Thursday so I'll know if she's ok in the next couple of days. In my personal opinion this is Lyme or Lyme related because it often relapses if you search forums! I'd really be surprised if ARS fever and sore throats lasted for maximum 72 hours I honestly do think that's too quick but equally I'm worried at the same time. As of today I feel almost perfect again other than minor stomach issues and a very slightly swollen node in my neck

It's very unlikely to be HIV.  Firstly, HIV is quite rare in English-speaking countries, especially among women, and secondly, it's actually quite hard to to transmit HIV by heterosexual sex.  Personally, I'd be more worried about other STIs, though those are unlikely too.  People that are infected with HIV normally don't have any symptoms for a month or two btw.

The only way you're going to know for sure is to get tested though.  You could either see your GP, or if you're in the UK, you could go to a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic - google "GUM clinic near me" for details.

If you could update this thread and tell us what the doctors say, it would be appreciated.  Good luck.

Better you go and test as recommended by ml66uk. It makes you easy.

After a exposure last year I am also facing stomach related issues and sore throat. Stomach I am able control with herbs and other issue persists.

After that exposure Im almost inactive on my sexual activities.

Yeah I've had many test and all ok but have recently had another exposure! Surely I can't be this god damn unlucky!! My stomach issues are intermittent and it's mild pain with some cramping in the upper abdomen and pain is mild on the left, I'm guessing spleen related! It also grumbles/growls frequently

Just thought I'd update this for anyone watching.....sexual screen completely clear for everything. After researching the net extensively I've come to the conclusion that this is possibly Lyme or Lyme related. 👍
