Is this possible ?

I was talking to a girl today about herpes and she has type one.

She proceeded to tell me that she "inherited" this disease . Which I didn't even think was possible . I have heard of getting it at birth from your mother but even that rarely happened because they had other ways of going about giving / having birth if you were infected with herpes ...

And to make matters even worse she has type one ORALLY. Which didn't make even more sense to me ., someone help me ., I'm not the one to bust someone out about lying but why lie about how you got it ?

Inherit ORAL herpes ?

She stating that she came out the womb with herpes , sounds unrealistic to me ...

My main question is .. Can you inherit herpes type one ORALLY ?

Well can't you just have cold sores and it is considered hsv 1? I read somewhere that some children have cold sores, doesn't mean they got it sexually.

      That's what im SAYING.

You can have hsv 1 type orally with your are a kid .. BUT . I don't think that you can inherit it . Somebody had to be kissing on her , she was drinking off somebody . Something

HSV1 orally can be passed on by kissing. that can be on the lips or face, hence, if your mother has HSV1 orally you may catch it as a young child simply by having your mother kiss you.

That's what I'm saying , she said she "inherited" it

you don't really inherit that. I don't think you can be born with HSV orally ... Idk. Just sounded different to me

It is probably just how she describes it. Especially if she has had them all of her life.
