It's the Little Things!!

So before my TLHR I could barely walk or stand still so the shower was the worst. Standing still in the shower caused excruciating pain....I would get out of the shower and sit on the commode to dry off. Too much information, I know!! 😳 This morning, got in the shower, took my time and dried off standing up!!!! I was not even thinking about it!!! Like I said, it's the little things now that make me so happy!!! ❤️❤️

Getting up from a chair....yes! Another treat! Instead of dreading it and leaning my whole body to the right to hoist myself up...now I stand straight up.

Prior to my replacement, every Friday night I'd go the same restaurant with my friends. We would sit at a tall table with high chairs. Very difficult, I would have to fling my leg over and once I was up I was not going anywhere. I have my leg length back and I think it will be a piece of cake. Still too soon for me to try that yet.....❤️❤️

When I first got out of bed following my hip replacement people could not understand my joy at being able to stand upright for the first time in months.

    That has since stopped,

I hope to do it again when I have the second replacement in a few weeks time.

Best of luck! I'm sure you will be standing straight once again! ❤️

Its such a diffrence its like you have got a new found power in your leg. I have a shower that l have to step over the barh to get in. I remember before my 2 hip replacements it was like l was trying to clime a 10 foot wall with no help the pain l had just trying to get one leg over while sort of dragging the second one at the same time as the pain trying to part my legs was like stabbing feeling and brought tears to my eyes and it wasxlike the quickest shower l could have as standing on any leg was so hard as both hips needed replaced l had to lie on the bed in tears when trying to get jeans or trousers on. I will never foget the year of pain l went through before l had had my 2 hip ops. It changed my life completly. And although l am still going through recovery its night and day to what l was like last year. I am so thankful for my new hips.

So glad you are feeling the benifits 😊😆💃

Lizard - I can sooooo relate to your posting.

You could have been writing about me.

Also have had the same recovery, barring a few bumps and bruises along the way, but even those have passed.

I am sooo grateful that we in this day and age have access to this surgery, and the wonderful Drs who have helped us.
