Just a quick one...
I've noticed a lot of the replies to some discussions are coming off quite judgemental rather than helpful. This is supposed to be somewhere we can be completely honest about our thoughts, feelings & actions. Judging someone, putting them down or blaming them is NOT helpful at all. I understand this not may be intentional but I would ask that people be more mindful & choose their words carefully. Some people may be more fragile than others & the 'tough love' approach is not always appropriate.
We all here for help & support so let's try to give that back.
Also a massive thank you to the people that have sent lovely words or encouragement or helpful suggestions to my discussions. I greatly appreciate it all.
Best wishes to everyone

Unfortunately a tougher approach is sometimes justified. Just as noone should judge, we also shouldn't enable or encourage unhealthy thinking. For example, if someone asks for advice, they get advice, but continue to ignore it and as the same question - often mods do actually step in. This is because it helps noone, especially the OP, it just encourages their circular thinking. This is a support forum, it's never a substitute for medical advice, people need to be free to give support while staying within the rules. Noone should feel berated, but they also shouldn't feel this is a place to reinforce bad habits or cyclical thinking - that's damaging to themselves and also anyone else who may read a thread afterwards

Quickies are nice ?.
Heaven forbid I am I do not judge, I have never done this in all my time answering peoples script.
Generally tough love will be given by those who know the patient, their GP or Specialist, CPN etc and that can be the proper way to deal with the patients Depression or anxiety etc. We are generally not health professionals so we all need to bow to qualified Health Care Professionals.
Can I help you

Nicely put!
My point exactly. We are not professionals & are here for support not treatment. There's never any need to make someone feel worse than they do whether you think that's helpful to them or not.
I'm currently okay thank you Bob. Feel free to message me if you ever need a chat

Hi Yasmine - I like to think of this site as a boat we're all on. Some are a little more seasick than others, but we're all on the same ocean, holding one another up, commiserating together and sharing helpful tips. Sometimes just purging can be therapeutic and no-one cares about the mess. We've all done it. And when someone expresses a feeling or situation just the way another has been searching for, well - it's a life jacket. Out comes the sun and maybe even a dolphin alongside. Wherever we're going, none of us are alone.
