Hi I'm new and I've just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia I've known I had raynauds for 4 years. I'm in constant pain and not sure what to do now. I'm 27 and the doc was vert blasé about it all. I've got morphine patches and tramadol. But they aren't helping and just make me more tired then I already am without them

    Hello Stac3y

I also could not tolerate morphine patches but I do get some help from tramadol.

Does you doctor prescribe the slow release tramadol?  I take it with several other pain meds but haven't found the magic formula that works, if there is one, but I think the tramadol helps me a bit and doesn't cause as much of a problem as the morphine patches did.

Also, have you been given any anti depressants yet which are commonly used nowadays to help control pain.

I hope you manage to find something that helps you.

You'll get lots of advice from this site,

    Best wishes

    Brenda

Thank you for your reply, I'm not sure if the tramadol is slow release or not and the doctor literally just said that she wants to review in six months nothing else, left the surgery and rang my mum in tears. I have no idea what I am dealing with and suffering from being so tired all the time. Also picked up the fact I have a bits in d deficiency. I have citalipram but haven't taken them for ages.

What part of the country are you in.

I live on the Isle of Man and come under Liverpool for specialist help and have been offered a course in pain management which should be available at a pain clinic near you. The appointment at a pain clinic is your next step which will ensure that you are taking the right medication.

    Hope this helps a little

Hi, I were diagnosed 3 years ago,the rheumy put me on Pregabalin they were great for about 6 months then the pain just got worse. The doctor then put me on Oramorph and Paracetamol. Those two work ok and i also put up with the opain and go for a stroll to ease it,(not today its pouring here)

I weaned myself off the pregabalin as the side effects were awful. I also now take Dosulepin its an AntiD I am not depressed, its to help me sleep and it does. On collecting my Meds at the weekend the Pharmacist lady said ' are you on these Dosulepin short term, as taking them with Oramorph be carefull of bad side effects' She did not tell me what, but I don't even want to take them now. What bothers me is the doc never said anything. Anyone else heard of this on here?

    regards..Anne..
