Just diagnosed with hsv 1. Still pretty confused.

So i just got the call that i tested positive for hsv 1. ive never experienced any symptoms but i know some people never do. My doctor told me that if ive had the chicken pox virus then that can lead to a positive result. I dont fully understand hsv 1. So if someone has a cold sore will the automatically test positive for hsv 1? I prepared myself mentally for bith possibilities on hsv 2 so now idk what to feel.

    Yes cold sore is HSV1. if someone had a cold sore and kisses you down stairs HSV1 can end up down there only if you have never had a cold sore.

    you can't get it in two places either.
